Abstract

The Bengawan River exhibits interconnected dynamics. As a result, erosion and sedimentation occur at various points along the river, especially after significant discharge events. HEC-RAS is a software developed by USACE that can simulate 1D sediment transport in rivers. The objective of this research is to analyze the changes in cross-sections of the Bengawan River due to the influence of a 100-year flood using HEC-RAS. The methods employed include the analysis of the 100-year flood discharge using HEC-HMS software and the analysis of cross-sectional changes using HEC-RAS. Based on the analysis, the peak discharge of the 100-year flood hydrograph is determined to be 35.85 m³/s. In the HEC-RAS simulation using a quasi-unsteady flow type with a duration of 48 hours, changes in river cross-sections were observed at stations STA 0+275, 0+250, 0+200, 0+175, 0+100, and 0+75. These cross-sectional changes were caused by sedimentation with thicknesses ranging from 0.13 cm to 2.08 cm

Abstract

ABSTRACT: Road infrastructure is crucial in supporting economic growth and community mobility. Good road conditions are essential for comfort, safety, and transportation efficiency. However, road damage is a common problem, including on Jalan P. Aji Iskandar, Juata Laut, Tarakan, and North Kalimantan. This research aims to develop a WebGIS application to visualize road surface roughness, hoping to improve infrastructure management and decision effectiveness. Road damage in Tarakan is exacerbated by the increase in heavy truck traffic related to the construction of PT Phoenix Resources International’s pulp mill, as identified in the Environmental Impact Analysis (EIA). Therefore, monitoring road conditions is essential. This study measures the International Roughness Index (IRI) as an indicator of road roughness, and IRI data is processed and integrated into WebGIS. The developed WebGIS application presents spatial visualization of road roughness through colour representation to facilitate the identification of improvement areas, detailed information on IRI values per segment, and query and data analysis features. The utilization of WebGIS offers the advantages of accessibility, interactivity, and the ability to display complex spatial data intuitively. The study results show the effectiveness of WebGIS applications in mapping and visualizing the roughness of the road surface. This information can be used by relevant parties, such as local governments and public works offices, to plan road maintenance efficiently and data-driven. It is hoped that this can improve the quality of road infrastructure in Tarakan, reduce the negative impact of industrial development, and improve the safety and comfort of road users. The development of this application also opens up opportunities for further research related to integrating other data, such as traffic data and visual road damage. Keywords: Road Infrastructure, Road Damage, WebGIS, Road Surface Roughness, Infrastructure Management ABSTRAK: Infrastruktur jalan krusial dalam mendukung pertumbuhan ekonomi dan mobilitas masyarakat. Kondisi jalan yang baik esensial untuk kenyamanan, keselamatan, dan efisiensi transportasi. Namun, kerusakan jalan adalah masalah umum, termasuk di Jalan P. Aji Iskandar, Juata Laut, Tarakan, Kalimantan Utara. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan aplikasi WebGIS untuk visualisasi kekasaran permukaan jalan, dengan harapan meningkatkan manajemen infrastruktur dan efektivitas keputusan. Kerusakan jalan di Tarakan diperparah oleh peningkatan lalu lintas truk berat terkait pembangunan pabrik pulp PT Phoenix Resources International, seperti yang teridentifikasi dalam Analisis Mengenai Dampak Lingkungan (AMDAL). Oleh karena itu, pemantauan kondisi jalan menjadi penting. Penelitian ini mengukur International Roughness Index (IRI) sebagai indikator kekasaran jalan, dan data IRI diolah serta diintegrasikan ke WebGIS. Aplikasi WebGIS yang dikembangkan menyajikan visualisasi spasial kekasaran jalan melalui representasi warna untuk memudahkan identifikasi area perbaikan, informasi detail nilai IRI per segmen, serta fitur query dan analisis data. Pemanfaatan WebGIS menawarkan keunggulan aksesibilitas, interaktivitas, dan kemampuan menampilkan data spasial kompleks secara intuitif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan efektivitas aplikasi WebGIS dalam memetakan dan memvisualisasikan kekasaran permukaan jalan. Informasi ini dapat digunakan oleh pihak terkait, seperti pemerintah daerah dan dinas pekerjaan umum, untuk merencanakan pemeliharaan jalan secara efisien dan berbasis data. Diharapkan hal ini dapat meningkatkan kualitas infrastruktur jalan di Tarakan, mengurangi dampak negatif pembangunan industri, serta meningkatkan keselamatan dan kenyamanan pengguna jalan. Abstract

ABSTRACT: This study aims to evaluate the road damage on Jalan P. Aji Iskandar in Tarakan City, a vital route for heavy vehicles, especially trucks transporting loads from the paper factory. The selection of this topic is important considering the high traffic volume and loads that exceed the road's capacity, which can lead to economic losses and safety issues for road users. The research methods used include the International Roughness Index (IRI), Present Serviceability Index (PSI), and Road Condition Index (RCI) to obtain comprehensive data regarding road conditions. The results indicate that the IRI values range from 3 to 10 m/km, with an average of 5 m/km, indicating that the road condition falls into the moderate to lightly damaged category. Additionally, the average PSI value of 1 indicates poor serviceability, while the average RCI value of 7 indicates good road conditions, although some segments require special attention. These findings emphasize the need for immediate repairs and regular maintenance to improve the quality of road infrastructure and user safety. This research is expected to contribute to developing better transportation policies in Tarakan City. Keywords: Road Damage, IRI, RCI, PSI ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kerusakan jalan di Jalan P. Aji Iskandar, Kota Tarakan, yang merupakan jalur vital bagi kendaraan berat, terutama truk pengangkut muatan dari pabrik kertas. Pemilihan topik ini penting mengingat tingginya volume lalu lintas dan beban yang melebihi kapasitas jalan, yang dapat menyebabkan kerugian ekonomi dan keselamatan pengguna jalan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan meliputi International Roughness Index (IRI), Present Serviceability Index (PSI), dan Road Condition Index (RCI) untuk mendapatkan data komprehensif mengenai kondisi jalan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai IRI bervariasi antara 3 hingga 10 m/km, dengan rata-rata 5 m/km, yang mengindikasikan kondisi jalan dalam kategori sedang hingga rusak ringan. Selain itu, nilai PSI rata-rata sebesar 1 menunjukkan kondisi pelayanan yang kurang baik, sementara RCI rata-rata sebesar 7 menunjukkan kondisi jalan yang baik, meskipun terdapat segmen-segmen yang memerlukan perhatian khusus. Temuan ini menegaskan perlunya perbaikan segera dan pemeliharaan rutin untuk meningkatkan kualitas infrastruktur jalan dan keselamatan pengguna. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi terhadap pengembangan kebijakan transportasi yang lebih baik di Kota Tarakan.Kata kunci: Kerusakan Jalan, IRI, RCI, PSI
