Classified as Rivew's systematic research, known as Systematic Literature Review (SRL). The article screening process is adjusted to the inclusion criteria according to the research topic which can be used as primary data and secondary data. Next, the data analysis and triangulation process was carried out by paying attention to each component that was used as the basis for the inclusion criteria. The results of the research show that there are various derivations for each component assessed which are spread starting from journal indexers and adjusted to the derivation of learning materials and can be integrated with every aspect and component of local Papuan culture which is oriented towards research trends in the learning process in the Papua region. Based on the findings obtained, it can be concluded that the ethnopedagogical trend is closely related to the development of a learning process that is in accordance with Papuan culture and local wisdom through critical components of inclusion so that through an ethnopedagogical approach it can create a meaningful learning process and have a cooperative learning process orientation.

Abstract

This article is a comparative study of the social science education curriculum in Ukraine and its implications for the social studies curriculum in Indonesia. Ukraine, which experienced a major transformation in its education system after its independence from the Soviet Union, has adopted a competency-based approach that focuses on the development of critical thinking skills, civic values, and global awareness. This curriculum is designed to form patriotic citizens who are able to adapt to local and global dynamics, with the integration of European educational standards. On the other hand, social studies education in Indonesia emphasizes more on strengthening the values of Pancasila, national insight, and cultural diversity. This article uses a literature study method to analyze the relevance and possibility of adopting elements of the Ukrainian curriculum into social studies education in Indonesia. The results of the analysis show that the Ukrainian competency-based approach can enrich the Indonesian social studies curriculum, especially in the development of analytical skills, understanding of democracy, and adaptation to global challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Multicultural Education textbook based on the Case Study Project (CSP) approach to improve the critical thinking skills of History Education students. The research employed a Research and Development method using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model. The study involved 68 students from the History Education Program at a university in Indonesia. The research instruments consisted of validation sheets, response questionnaires, and critical thinking skill tests. Data were analyzed through validity tests, practicality tests, and effectiveness tests using a paired sample t-test. The results indicate that the developed textbook demonstrates high validity (average score 89.5%), excellent practicality (average score 87.3%), and effectively improves students’ critical thinking skills with a significance value of p < 0.05. The improvement was evident in analytical, evaluative, and synthetic skills across diverse cultural perspectives. Therefore, the textbook is feasible for use as an alternative learning resource in Multicultural Education and represents an instructional innovation relevant to fostering 21st-century competencies in higher education.

Abstract

Social Studies learning in rural contexts remains largely abstract and disconnected from students’ real-life experiences, limiting their engagement and creativity development. This study aimed to develop a regional-potential-oriented community-based learning (CBL) model for Social Studies education that leverages local coffee potential to enhance students’ creativity in rural contexts. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach based on Borg and Gall, focusing on three main stages: research and information collecting, planning, and developing a preliminary product. The model was validated through expert judgment involving learning model specialists, subject-matter experts, practitioner teachers, and community representatives, followed by a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to refine the model and its supporting components. Data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive techniques to interpret findings from the preliminary study, expert validation, and FGD, and quantitative descriptive analysis to evaluate the model’s validity and feasibility, as the study had not yet proceeded to the effectiveness testing stage. The findings indicate that the developed learning model is pedagogically coherent, contextually relevant, and practically feasible to implement within the existing Social Studies curriculum. Overall, this study contributes a validated and context-responsive pedagogical model that advances creativity-oriented Social Studies instruction through Community-Based Learning grounded in regional potential.
