Abstract

This study aims to describe the management of the journalism extracurricular program as a strategy for developing student creativity at State Madrasah Aliyah 6 Tasikmalaya. The study employed a qualitative approach, collecting data through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, which were then analyzed through data condensation, data presentation, and the drawing and verification of conclusions. The results show that planning for the journalism extracurricular program is carried out through working meetings involving advisors, officers, and members to develop work programs, set goals, establish activity schedules, and assign responsibilities. Organization is implemented by forming an organizational structure consisting of various fields and divisions based on members’ interests and competencies, such as content writing, photography, videography, and graphic design. Program implementation takes the form of various journalism activities, including journalism training, coverage of madrasah events, social media management, the production of magazines and newsletters, and the creation of digital content that results in a variety of creative student works. Supervision is carried out periodically through monitoring, evaluation, regular meetings, activity reports, and guidance from advisors and madrasah officials. The success of the journalism extracurricular program is supported by high student enthusiasm, madrasah support, the use of digital technology, and cooperation among members, although there are still challenges such as limited resources, scheduling conflicts, and differences in members’ basic skills. These findings indicate the integration of management functions in supporting the development of students’ creativity, digital literacy, and 21st-century skills.
