Abstract

Increasing human resources who are able to provide Front office services in accordance with needs, needs to be done by Politeknik eLBajo Commodus as a vocational college to improve the quality of education that can meet the needs of industry, especially hospitality industry. One of the mechanisms is to open internship opportunities for lecturers. The implementation of teaching activities certainly needs adjustment to changes that occur in the industrial world. This is based on tourism characteristics that often change along with the development of technology and knowledge. New trends and habits continue to emerge that require the world of vocational education to metamorphose according to the circumstances and needs of the industry. The method used in this study is a causative method using a self-direct learning approach, Problem-based learning, observation, interviews and literature studies during the internship process which was carried out for one month at Sudamala Komodo Resort. This study shows several adjustments related to the theory of teaching Front Office courses. These differences include the front office organizational structure and its duties and functions, the check-in process, registration form, comset rate, room assignment, bell boy, house bank, courtesy call, and check out tailored to the needs and circumstances of the hotel and environment at Sudamala Komodo Resort.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji praktik etika bisnis beberapa jenis UMKM di Labuan Bajo, sebuah destinasi pariwisata super prioritas di Indonesia. Sektor pariwisata telah menjadi salah satu inti bisnis utama di banyak daerah yang berperan penting dalam mendukung pertumbuhan ekonomi lokal, pelestarian budaya, dan pengalaman wisata yang unik. Namun, tantangan utama yang dihadapi UMKM adalah implementasi bisnis yang beretika untuk mendukung keberlanjutan destinasi pariwisata. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan paradigma positivisme. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui wawancara dan observasi terhadap beberapa jenis UMKM yang berbeda di Labuan Bajo. Analisis data dilakukan dengan langkah-langkah penelitian kualitatif seperti identifikasi, kategorisasi, kodifikasi, reduksi, pemetaan pola, dan sintesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar UMKM telah berupaya menerapkan prinsip-prinsip etika bisnis dalam aktivitas bisnis. Hal ini menjadi dasar dalam menjaga kepercayaan konsumen, meningkatkan kualitas produk dan layanan, serta memastikan keberlanjutan bisnis dalam jangka panjang. Namun, terdapat kendala dalam penggunaan teknologi informasi dan perhatian terhadap aspek lingkungan dan sosial. Penelitian diharapkan memberikan masukan berharga bagi UMKM, pemerintah, dan stakeholder terkait dalam upaya menjaga keberlanjutan pariwisata prioritas di Labuan Bajo. Dengan meningkatkan praktik etika bisnis, UMKM dapat berperan lebih aktif dalam mendukung pembangunan berkelanjutan, melestarikan budaya lokal, dan memberikan pengalaman wisata yang unik bagi para wisatawan.

Abstract

The availability of homestays as tourist accommodation developed in Loha Tourism Village, West Manggarai Regency, is one of the potential attractions. However, in order to assure the quality of tourists services, homestays must be managed in compliance with generally accepted standards, such as the Asean Homestay Standard. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the suitability between the content of the standards in the Asean Homestay Standard and its application in the management of homestays in the tourist village of Loha. The method used in this research is qualitative with an exploratory approach. The results show that the total assessment score for the application of Asean Homestay Standards in accordance with the factual conditions of homestay management in Loha Tourism Village is 34 points with a presentation of 37%. This means that homestays in Loha Tourism Village are in the fair category. The highest score is obtained from the assessment of the activity criteria by 9%, and the lowest score is obtained from the assessment of the security and safety criteria by 2%. Thus, it is necessary to improve the quality of the human resources of the community and homestay managers to be able to maximize the tourism potential of the Loha tourism village.
