Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of local games (X) on students' character development (Y). A quantitative research method was employed, collecting data via questionnaires with 15 items for the local games variable (X) and 15 for the character assessment variable (Y). The research procedure included instrument preparation, instructional process, data analysis, interpretation, and conclusion formulation. The findings indicate that local games influence students' character development, with an average score of 85.69. The F-statistic value of 0.06 and significance level of 0.941 suggests that while local games impact character development, not all character aspects are significantly affected. The character trait of "curiosity" had the highest influence, with a 92.00% rating, highlighting a strong positive impact of local games on this trait. Conversely, the "hard work" trait showed the lowest influence, with a score of 80.67%, indicating that local games have a limited impact on this character trait. Traits such as cooperation, independence, honesty, tolerance, friendliness and communicativeness, responsibility, and creativity displayed scores above the average of 85.69%. However, independence and hard work were below the minimum threshold of 80.67%. These results suggest that while local games positively influence some aspects of character, they do not significantly change all character traits. It is recommended that local games be utilized primarily for fostering group-oriented character traits.

Abstract

The acceleration of the implementation of the Electronic Based Government System (SPBE) still shows an imbalance between the availability of digital infrastructure and the level of public participation in the public policy formulation process. Although the government has provided various digital platforms, their utilisation has not been optimal because public trust in government transparency and accountability has not been adequately established. This study aims to analyse the influence of digital platform quality and public trust on citizen e-participation in government policy formation. This study uses a mixed method with a quantitative approach through the distribution of questionnaires to 73 respondents in West Lombok Regency and Mataram City. The qualitative approach was conducted through in depth interviews with people who had filed complaints and public policy experts. The results show that the quality of digital platforms and public trust simultaneously influence citizen e-participation by 49.9%. Qualitative findings reinforce quantitative results that digital participation is more influenced by public perceptions of government transparency, responsiveness, and accountability than by technical aspects of the platform. This study confirms that the successful implementation of the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) depends not only on technological modernisation, but also on building social trust and inclusive and sustainable community involvement as part of strengthening digital governance in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract

The Peresean tradition is a distinctive cultural heritage of the Sasak people, combining elements of traditional martial arts, local wisdom, sportsmanship and character education into a single cultural practice passed down from generation to generation. It is important to study this tradition, given that its survival faces various challenges due to modernisation and a decline in the younger generation’s interest in local culture. In addition to serving as a cultural performance, Peresean also acts as a medium for passing on the values of courage, self-control, respect, solidarity, and social responsibility through the direct involvement of the community. This study is to examine the Peresean tradition of the indigenous Sasak community as a means of internalizing character values through an ethnopedagogical perspective, as well as to explore its contribution to strengthening social bonds within the Sasak community. This study uses qualitative methods. Data collection was conducted through observation and in-depth interviews with pepadu, pekembar, traditional leaders, academics, and the community, as well as field documentation in Bonjeruk Village, Central Lombok Regency. Data analysis was conducted using Miles and Huberman's method with the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification. This study draws on Berger and Luckmnn’s Social Construction Theory, which explains that cultural values are formed and internalized through the process of social interaction. The results of the study show that the Peresean tradition not only functions as a cultural performance but also as a medium of education based on local culture that instills social and moral values through role modeling, habituation, and community involvement. Peresean plays an important role in strengthening social solidarity and the collective identity of the Sasak community. This study makes a theoretical contribution by broadening our understanding of the role of local cultural traditions as a means of internalizing character values in community life. In practical terms, the findings of this study can be used as a basis for developing education grounded in local wisdom to strengthen students’ character and support sustainable efforts to preserve local culture.
