Abstract

This research aims to explore the role of local wisdom in early childhood moral development through an ethnoparenting approach. Using a case study design and qualitative approach, the research involved in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation to collect data from parents and community leaders. The results showed that Lampung cultural values, such as Piil Pesenggikhi which includes concepts such as Nemui Nyimah, Juluk Adok, Nengah Nyappur, and Sakai Sambayan, serve as a strong foundation in the formation of children's character and morals. Parents play an important role in instilling these values through modeling and habituation in daily life. This research makes a significant contribution to character education in Indonesia by emphasizing the relevance of local wisdom in the context of modern education, while opening up opportunities for further research on the impact of culture on moral development in other communities.

Abstract

Birrul Walidain Gondangrejo Kindergarten, East Lampung, is an early childhood education institution that seeks to develop all aspects of child development, especially children's cognitive abilities through the use of concrete and interactive learning media. To optimize learning, it is necessary to add media with a new model so that the available teaching media is more maximal and varied. In this study, the "Magic Drawer" media was developed, where the term "magic" philosophically refers to a media that is able to foster curiosity, provide an interesting learning experience, and present educational surprises that stimulate the thinking skills of children aged 4-5 years. This research aims to develop plywood media into a "Magic Drawer" and find out its effectiveness in improving the cognitive abilities of children aged 4-5 years. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with a 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) model. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of validation by material experts and media experts show that the "Magic Drawer" media is very suitable for use in early childhood learning. Trials limited to children aged 4-5 years showed an increase in cognitive abilities, such as recognizing colors, shapes, numbers, and the ability to group and think logically. Based on the results of quantitative and qualitative data analysis, the "MagicDrawer" media is effective and interesting to use in learning activities. Thus, plywood-based learning media developed into a "Magic Drawer" can be used as an alternative educational media to support the optimal improvement of children's cognitive abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Number Treasure learning media made from plywood and test its effectiveness in improving numeracy skills of children aged 4-5 years at TK Arsya Bunda Bandar Mataram, Central Lampung. The research used Research and Development (R&D) method with 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The subjects were 15 children aged 4-5 years. Data collection used observation, expert validation questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used quantitative techniques with Likert scale and qualitative descriptive. Media expert validation results obtained "Eligible" category and material expert "Eligible". Product trial showed significant improvement in children's numeracy skills, from 9 children (60%) in Undeveloped category to 10 children (67%) Developing as Expected and 3 children (20%) Developing Very Well. This media effectively trains five numeracy indicators: counting objects 1-10, understanding number concepts, recognizing number symbols, matching number symbols, and reciting numbers 1-10. Number Treasure media is a learning innovation that combines treasure hunt games with numeracy concepts using environmentally friendly plywood materials, easy to make, and attractive for early childhood.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of Creative House Educational Play Tools (APE) in improving the cognitive abilities of children aged 5–6 years. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the Borg and Gall model which is simplified into seven stages, including potential and problem analysis, data collection, product design, expert validation, revision, limited trial, and final revision. The subjects of the study were 12 children aged 5–6 years at RA Miftahut Tholibin Sukadana Jaya with saturated sampling techniques, and involved teachers, school principals, media experts, and material experts as validators. The results of the study showed that APE Rumah Kreatif is feasible and effective in improving children's cognitive abilities, shown by a significant increase from the category of Not Yet Developed to Start Developing, Developing as Expected, to Developing Very Well after the use of media. In addition, children become more active, enthusiastic, and able to understand symbolic concepts better through play activities. Thus, APE Rumah Kreatif is proven to be an innovative learning medium that is able to create active, interactive, and fun learning and contribute to the development of early childhood cognitive abilities based on play-based learning.
