Abstract

The golden age of early childhood is a crucial period for developing multiple intelligences, including interpersonal intelligence. Interpersonal intelligence refers to the ability to relate to and collaborate with others. This intelligence can be stimulated through traditional games, one of which is gobak sodor. This study employed a quantitative research approach with a descriptive design using correlational analysis. The objective was to examine the relationship between the traditional gobak sodor game and the interpersonal intelligence of children. The study population comprised all children aged 5–6 years, with a purposive sampling technique used to select 35 participants. Data collection methods included observation and documentation. The data were analyzed using simple correlational analysis through IBM SPSS Statistics version 26.0, preceded by a normality test. The results of the correlation test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant relationship. Furthermore, the Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.810 suggests a strong and positive correlation between the variables. These findings highlight that the traditional gobak sodor game is an effective medium for stimulating interpersonal intelligence in children. It underscores the importance of integrating traditional games into early childhood education to enhance social and collaborative skills, contributing to holistic development.

Abstract

The development of fine motor skills in early childhood is an important aspect that needs attention in the learning process. However, many students still experience difficulties in developing these skills, one of which is caused by the lack of creativity of educators in using varied and interesting learning media. As a result, more than 50% of children show suboptimal fine motor skills and minimal imagination in learning activities. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of loose part media on the fine motor skills of kindergarten students. This study uses a quantitative analysis method. The population and sample of this study were 52 kindergarten students. The sampling technique was based on the characteristics of the students with the same groups and numbers, so there were no specific criteria for determining the control and experimental classes. Data collection was carried out through observation and documentation using a research instrument that had undergone content validity and empirical validity tests. Meanwhile, reliability was tested using Cronbach's alpha formula. The data analysis technique used was quasi-experimental analysis. A quasi-experiment is an experiment in which the smallest experimental units are not randomly assigned to experimental and control groups (non-random assignment). The results of this study indicate that there is an effect on the fine motor skills of kindergarten students before and after the use of loose parts media. This can be seen from the results of the independent sample t-test, which yielded a tvalue of 3.619 and a Sig. value of 0.001 < 0.05. Based on the results of this study, recommendations will be made to schools to implement loose part media as a form of creativity for educators to train fine motor skills in children.

Abstract

The integration of technology into early childhood education has become a necessity in the Society 5.0 era, particularly to support the development of creativity through interactive and innovative approaches. This study aims to identify the level of kindergarten teachers’ understanding of digital learning as a means to foster creativity in children aged 4 to 6 years. A descriptive quantitative method was employed through a survey of 52 kindergarten teachers in the city of Lhokseumawe. Data were collected using online questionnaires and interviews, and analyzed using percentage-based techniques. The findings indicate that the majority of teachers lack understanding of digital learning (87%), are unfamiliar with the concept of constructive play (79%), and report the absence of digital learning guidebooks (85%). These results highlight an urgent need for comprehensive training in digital pedagogy and the development of technology-based educational play tools to enhance creativity in early childhood learners.
