Abstract

Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) are a group of diseases that are not transmitted through infection or direct contact with other individuals, but are caused by a combination of genetic, environmental and behavioral factors. NCDs are one of the main causes of death globally, with prevalence rates continuing to increase, especially in developing countries. The main risk factors for NCDs include unhealthy diet, lack of physical activity, tobacco consumption and excessive alcohol use. Prevention and control of NCDs requires a multidisciplinary approach, involving public education, health system strengthening, public policies that support health, as well as early detection and risk management. Effective treatment of NCDs is very important to improve people's quality of life and reduce the economic burden caused by this disease. Prevention of PTM can be done through PTM screening. The government has provided this skinning method through the JKN mobile application. The method used in this activity is direct socialization and discussion directly with participants using power point media. The results showed that participants were very enthusiastic about following the education provided and enthusiastic about knowing how to carry out screening using the JKN application.

Abstract

Preoperative anxiety is one of the psychological problems that patients often experience and can affect physiological stability, response to anesthesia, and the postoperative recovery process. High levels of anxiety in patients leading up to surgery can have negative impacts, both physically and emotionally. One of the interventions that can be done to reduce anxiety is therapeutic communication by nurses. Therapeutic communication has an important role in creating a relationship of mutual trust, providing a sense of security, and helping patients understand the medical procedures to be undertaken. However, there are still conditions where therapeutic communication has not been implemented optimally. This study aims to determine the relationship between nurses' therapeutic communication and the level of anxiety of preoperative patients at RSI Pekajangan. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design and involved 72 respondents who were selected through purposive sampling techniques. The research instruments included a therapeutic communication questionnaire and the Amsterdam Preoperative Anxiety and Information Scale (APAIS). Data analysis was carried out using the Spearman Rank test. The results showed that most respondents rated therapeutic communication in the categories of good (81.9%) and moderate anxiety (72.2%). Statistical tests showed a significant relationship between nurses' therapeutic communication and preoperative patients' anxiety levels (p = 0.027) and moderate correlation strength (r = -0.260). The conclusion of this study confirms that therapeutic communication plays a role in lowering patients' anxiety, so it is recommended that nurses improve therapeutic communication skills as part of pre-surgical interventions.

Abstract

Acute Respiratory Tract Infection (ARI) is a global health problem that significantly contributes to high morbidity and mortality rates. The goal of this activity is to educate residents about preventing ARI, so that they have a good understanding of the disease and are able to take preventive measures independently. The program included information on ARI, simple inhalation therapy, and proper waste disposal. Prior to the health promotion on ARI prevention, 70% of residents had poor knowledge about the disease. After the activity, there was a significant increase in knowledge, with 90% of residents demonstrating a good level of understanding. This improvement indicates a positive shift in public awareness regarding ARI prevention. The activity successfully emphasized the importance of prevention efforts for ARI, focusing on promoting Clean and Healthy Living Behaviors (PHBS). Educating the community about ARI prevention is crucial in reducing the incidence of the disease. Regular health promotion activities, particularly those targeting community participation and practical steps for prevention, are vital for enhancing public health and preventing ARI, which remains a major cause of illness and death worldwide. The results highlight the effectiveness of health education in raising awareness and improving knowledge on preventing ARI.
