Abstract

Modern Islamic education must be realised to maintain the existence and purity of Islamic science. The purpose of this research is to discuss the efforts to realise modern Islamic education by understanding the concept of Islamisation of Science offered by Syed Muhammad Nauqib Al-Attas. This type of research is literature, which discusses the thoughts of figures, using heuristic approaches and inherent coherence. The analysis technique used is this analysis, by examining primary sources from the book by Syed Muhammad Nauqib Al-Attas and narrating them, then looking for relevance. The results of this study indicate that, Islamisation of Science in education is the inclusion of key concepts which include the concepts of religion (din), human (Insan), wisdom (hikmah), justice (‘adl), charity (’amal as adab), science ('ilm), and university (Kuliyyah jami'ah). This concept must be conserved in the modern Islamic education to maintain the existence and purity of Islamic science.

Abstract

This research aims to outline the integration of Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel and Karl Marx's thoughts in Slavoj Žižek's philosophy through Jacques Lacan's psychoanalytic perspective. The main focus of the research is to understand how Žižek combines Hegel's dialectic that emphasises process, difference and contingency with Marx's materialism critique that has been considered too teleological, and enriches his analysis with Lacan's theory of the unconscious to answer contemporary socio-political issues more sharply and relevantly. The method used is a literature study by collecting data from books, journals, and trusted academic sources that discuss the thoughts of Žižek, Hegel, Marx, and Lacan. The data was analysed qualitatively with a descriptive and interpretative approach to explore the meaning and interrelationship of philosophical concepts in Žižek's philosophical construction. The results show that Žižek reconstructs Hegel's dialectic as an ontological foundation that emphasises contingency and uncertainty, while criticising the teleology of classical Marxism. He develops the concept of active and passive dialectical subjects, and uses Lacan's psychoanalysis to analyse ideology and the structure of subjectivity in modern capitalism. This approach results in a radical and applicable contemporary dialectical materialism, providing a framework for critical analysis of 21st century socio-political realities.

Abstract

Fatherless is a condition of psychological absence of fathers in the growth and development of children in household life. This research aims to analyze the phenomenon of fatherlessness in Indonesia due to patriarchal culture, using Amina Wadud's feminist thinking about the concept of caring for children. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach, namely by collecting books, journals, and websites related to the research theme. The analysis used is critical analysis by describing the formal object, namely Amina Wadud's thinking, to be used as an analysis of the material object, namely the fatherless phenomenon in Indonesia. The results of the analysis of this study are fatherless conditions due to patriarchal culture should not occur because; first, the Qur'an states that the rights and obligations in caring for children between men and women are the same. Second, a flexible system of cooperation is key in the household, including in terms of caring for children. Third, women also have the right to be as productive as men, not just focusing on childcare.

Abstract

This research aims to explore reflectively the Sufistic ethical thinking of Muhammad Nursamad Kamba as part of the modern Sufism movement where the focus of the study is more emphasised on the social-humanitarian ethical dimension. This type of research is a document study conducted by collecting data from primary sources in the form of Kamba's books, and secondary sources in the form of journals, books, and related website articles. The results of this research are: Sufistic ethics in Kamba's thought begins with the application of the principle of independence in religion by accessing divine values directly without being hindered by religious authorities who give birth to formal laws. After that, Kamba makes the principle of ‘to be god is to do good’ a fundamental foundation in religion. Thus, the tendency towards the moral dimension will be very dominant in the life of a Muslim. That doing good is solely because Allah is the Most Good. There is no sense of selfishness, riya', pride, ujub, and so on. His life is only to nurture fellow creatures of Allah because he sees Allah in other creatures. This style of thinking includes two ethical concepts at once, namely individual ethics in the form of upholding obligations to God, and social ethics in the form of efforts to reflect divine values in the behaviour of kindness and love. Penelitian ini hendak mengeksplorasi secara reflektif pemikiran etika sufistik Muhammad Nursamad Kamba sebagai bagian dari gerakan tasawuf modern dimana fokus kajiannya lebih ditekankan pada dimensi etik sosial-kemanusiaan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah studi dokumen yang dilakukan dengan cara mengumpulkan data dari sumber primer berupa buku karya Kamba, dan sumber sekunder berupa jurnal, buku, dan artikel website terkait. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: etika sufistik dalam pemikiran Kamba dimulai dengan penerapan prinsip kemandirian dalam beragama dengan mengakses nilai ketuhanan secara langsung tanpa terhalangi oleh otoritas keagamaan yang melahirkan hukum-hukum formal. Setelah itu, Kamba menjadikan prinsip “bertuhan adalah berbuat baik” sebagai landasan fundamental dalam beragama. Dengan demikian, kecenderungan pada dimensi akhlak akan sangat dominan dalam kehidupan seorang muslim. Bahwa berlaku baik adalah semata-mata karena Allah Yang Maha baik. Tidak ada rasa pamrih, riya’, sombong, ujub, dan sebagainya. Hidupnya hanyalah untuk mengayomi sesama makhluk Allah karena melihat Allah dalam diri makhluk yang lain. Corak pemikiran tersebut mencakup dua konsep etik sekaligus, yaitu etika individual berupa penegakan kewajiban kepada Tuhan, dan etika sosial berupa upaya merefleksikan nilai ketuhanan dalam perilaku kebaikan dan cinta.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to provide a strategic map of the scope of Islamic ethics and its academic study opportunities. The formulation of the scope is quite important because the study of Islamic ethics is very broad and the view of good-bad, right-wrong, and should-not-should always encompass the life of a Muslim. For this reason, in order to achieve the direction and depth of the research, a technical guide such as a road map is needed. This research uses a qualitative approach with a document study method that collects various scientific works on the theme of Islamic ethics. With thematic analysis to identify, evaluate, and group the main themes that emerge about Islamic ethics. The result of this research is that the scope of Islamic ethics and its academic study opportunities include: (1) religious ethics, which deals with human behaviour towards Allah and the Prophet. (2) individual ethics, which investigates honesty, patience, discipline, courage, responsibility, etc. about how one fulfils one's obligations. It is about how one fulfils one's obligations to oneself. (3) social ethics, which talks about man's relationship with his fellow man, such as family ethics, friendship ethics, state ethics, to political ethics, economic ethics, and the like. (4) environmental ethics, which discusses the pattern of human relationships with nature along with plants and animals. In this area there are several discourses such as egocentric, ecocentric, theological ethics, ecofeminism, animal rights and Islamic ecoreligious
