Abstract

Scientific literacy is one of the 21st-century skills that students must learn, yet their competence falls short of expectations. Smart Apps Creator (SAC) is an application that provides many features to help teachers construct interactive learning media to increase scientific literacy.Purpose –This research aims to define the profile of students' scientific literacy and assess the needs of SAC media to increase scientific literacy.Methodology – This study employs a mixed method. This study's subjects were sixth-grade primary school pupils and teachers. Data were gathered by test, interview, observation, and documentation methods. The data analysis approach included descriptive statistics and interactive analysis. This research was conducted with the initial step of finding the problem's topic at the research location. Next, the researcher formulated the problem formulation research objectives and created research instruments. After that, the researcher took care of the research permit. After the research permit was approved, the researcher collected the research data. After the research data was obtained, the researcher analyzed and checked the validity or credibility of the data. Then, the researcher drew research conclusions based on the research objectives that had been set at the beginning.Findings –The study's findings reveal the scientific literacy profile of grade VI primary school pupils in the moderate category, and both students and instructors agree that the development of SAC media is necessary to increase scientific literacy.Significance – This study's findings help improve students' scientific literacy skills via SAC media.Keywords:Scientific Literacy, Learning Media, Smart Apps Creator

Abstract

Tanaman cabai adalah tanaman yang mudah ditemukan tidak hanya di Indonesia, seluruh dunia peminat cabe sangat lah banyak karena cabe memiliki tekstur yang pedas dan bentuk cabe bermacam – macam ada yang lonjong, dan bulat tanaman cabe memiliki tinggi 50‐90 cm, dan batang cabe sedikit mengandung zat kayu, terutama yang dekat dengan permukaan tanah, hama tanaman cabe sendiri banyak merugikan petani dan menurunkan produksi tanaman cabe dan membuat petani mengalami kerugian yang cukup besar. Tujuan dibuatnya penelitian ini untuk membantu petani dalam meningkatkan kualitas tanaman cabe agar tidak mengalami kerugian dan membantu petani, manfaat dari penelitian ini dapat mengurangi kerugian yang diperoleh dari penyebaran hama tanaman cabe. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah jenis alat yang dapat membantu masyarakat dalam pemilihan metode yang digunakan dan media yang di ingin, dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat membantu petani dalam meningkatkan kualitas tanaman cabe dan menemukan solusi yang tepat dalam pemilihan obat pada tanaman cabe.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in the Indonesian language subject in grade IV. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of the SQ3R method assisted by a digital dictionary on students' learning outcomes in the Indonesian language subject on the topic of Natural Beauty in grade IV at SDN 060863 Medan Timur. The study employs a two-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this research are class IV-A and IV-B, totaling 54 students. The data collection tool used is a pretest-posttest essay test instrument. The data analysis techniques used are normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing. The results of the study show an average increase of 44.63 in the experimental class and 29.82 in the control class. Based on the hypothesis test results conducted with a significance level of α = 0.05, the t-table value obtained is 2.063. Therefore, the criteria for drawing conclusions are t-calculated ˃ t-table, which is 5.61 ˃ 2.04. It can be concluded that Ha is accepted with the statement that there is an effect of using the SQ3R learning method assisted by a digital dictionary on students' learning outcomes in the Indonesian language subject on the topic of Natural Beauty in grade IV at SDN 060863 Medan Timur.Keywords: SQ3R Model, Learning Outcomes, Digital Dictionary
