Abstract

In combinatorial mathematics, a Steiner system is a type of block design. Specifically, a Steiner system S(t, k, v) is a set of v points and k blocks which satisfy that every t-subset of v-set of points appear in the unique block. It is well-known that a finite projective plane is one examples of Steiner system with t = 2, which consists of a set of points and lines together with an incidence relation between them and order 2 is the smallest order. In this paper, we observe some properties from construction of finite projective planes of order 2 and 3. Also, we analyse the intersection between two projective planes by using some characteristics of the construction and orbit of projective planes over some representative cosets from automorphism group in the appropriate symmetric group.

Abstract

In this paper, we study with the definition of B-algebras, commutative B-algebras and fuzzy ideal in B-algebras. We consider the terminology of multipolar intuitionistic fuzzy ideal. We propose about multipolar intuitionistic fuzzy ideal in B-algebras and some related properties. Then, we discuss about theorems and propositions which contain some conditions for a multipolar intuitionistic fuzzy set become a multipolar intuitionistic fuzzy ideal in B-algebras.

Abstract

The eccentricity matrix is one of matrices to represent graphs. The eccentricity matrix is used as a basis for calculating the eccentricity spectrum and energy. This article aims to study the concepts of eccentricity spectrum and energy in simple graphs. For special cases, we also discuss eccentricity spectrum and energy of paths and cycles. All studies in this article focus on providing some examples to facilitate the reader's understanding of the concepts studied. In addition, this article also corrects the mistakes in the lemma about eccentricity spectrum of paths and theorem about eccentricity energy of odd-order cycles from reference articles. Corrections are made by indicating where the errors are in the referenced articles, providing counter examples, correcting inaccurate lemmas and theorems, and giving short proofs. At the end of the article, an open problem is also included to provide an overview of research ideas that can be developed from the concepts of eccentricity spectrum and energy.

Abstract

A bicyclic graph is a type of graph that consists of exactly two cycles. A cycle is a graph that is a closed path where no vertices are repeated except the first and last vertices which are the same. The cycles in bicyclic graph can be of different lengths and shapes, but they must have at least one common vertex. Bicyclic graphs can be divided into two categories based on the types of induced subgraphs they contain. One category consists of graphs that include an -graph as an induced subgraph, while the other category comprises graphs that contain a -graph as an induced subgraph. There are 3 types of bicyclic graph without pendant vertex. A directed graph, also referred to as a digraph, is a graph in which each edge is assigned a specific direction. A directed bicyclic graph is a special kind of directed graph that contains precisely two distinct directed cycles. This graph can be applied in transportation problem. In this article, we give some examples of directed bicyclic graph in Trans Jogja routes.

Abstract

A method commonly employed to solve integer programming problems is the Branch and Bound. In this article, maximizing the number of matches held on the first day of pencak silat tournaments is essential because it can impact the overall dynamics and results of the competition. The model used to maximize the number of match sessions in pencak silat competitions is a variant of the Bounded Knapsack Problem (BKP), belonging to the category of integer programming models. The result obtained using the Branch and Bound method ensures that the maximum number of match sessions can be conducted. The objective value obtained using the Branch and Bound method decreases as it descends, indicating a decreasing maximum value.

Abstract

A persymmetric matrix is a square matrix that is symmetric concerning its antidiagonal. This article discusses some characteristics of a persymmetric matrix and its application in coding theory. A persymmetric matrix is used to form a generator matrix of binary reversible self-dual codes. A binary reversible self-dual code is a self-dual code whose reverse element is contained in the code. The methodology involves the implementation of flip transpose and column reversal to ensure the generator matrix satisfies both self-duality and reversibility. We begin with small-sized persymmetric matrices (e.g., 2×2 and 3×3) to extend the construction of the larger matrices. Combining a self-dual code and a reversible self-dual code of shorter length, and embedding persymmetric blocks, we construct new binary reversible self-dual codes of longer length. The novelty of this research lies in developing a new construction method for binary reversible self-dual codes derived directly from self-dual codes in the standard form, which has not been explicitly addressed in previous studies.

Abstract

This article discusses a predator-prey model with a ratio-dependent functional response and harvesting in both populations.  The differential equation of predator-prey model is discretized using the Euler method. The dynamics of the obtained discrete time model are investigated by determining the fixed points as well as their stability properties, and bifurcation analysis. Bifurcation analysis shows that the discrete time model can experience bifurcation, both period-doubling bifurcation and Neimark-Sacker bifurcation, when the value of time-integration step  passes a critical value. The analysis results have been confirmed by our numerical simulation results presented at the end of this article.

Abstract

Graph theory is a branch of algebra that is growing rapidly both in concept and application studies. This graph application can be used in chemistry, transportation, cryptographic problems, coding theory, design communication network, etc. There is currently a bridge between graphs and algebra, especially an algebraic structures, namely theory of graph algebra. One of researchs on graph algebra is a graph that formed by prime ring elements or called prime graph over ring R. The prime graph over commutative ring R (PG(R))) is a graph construction with set of vertices V(PG(R))=R and two vertices x and y are adjacent if satisfy xRy={0}, for x≠y. Girth is the shortest cycle length contains in PG(R) or can be written gr(PG(R)). Order in PG(R) denoted by |V(PG(R))| and size in PG(R) denoted by |E(PG(R))|. In this paper, we discussed prime graph over cartesian product over rings Z_m×Z_n and its complement. We focused only for m=p_1, n=p_2 and m=p_1, n=〖p_2〗^2, where p_1 and p_2 are prime numbers. Then, we obtained some properties related to order and size, degree, and girth. We also observe some examples. Moreover, we found that a correction in the statement of (Pawar & Joshi, 2019) about the complement graph over prime graph over a ring and gave a counter example for that.

Abstract

In food industries, supplier evaluation and selection are strategic activities that influence product freshness, operational continuity, and supply chain sustainability. However, this process is often hindered by uncertainty and ambiguity in expert judgments. In response to these challenges, the present study proposes an integrated decision-making method that combines Circular Intuitionistic Fuzzy Set (CIFS), the Stepwise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis (SWARA), and the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). CIFS capture uncertainty in expert opinions, SWARA determines systematic criteria weights, and TOPSIS—enhanced with the Garg et al. distance measure—ranks suppliers based on aggregated evaluations. The evaluation involves seven key criteria: flexibility, capacity, quality, service, reputation, price, and lead time, assessed across five potential suppliers. Applied to Toko Pia Cap Mangkok, a traditional snack producer in Malang, Indonesia, the method identifies lead time, capacity, and reputation as the most critical criteria. Among the alternatives, Supplier $A_1$ consistently ranks first across optimistic, pessimistic, and combined scenarios, confirming its robustness and reliability, followed by Supplier $A_2$, while others perform less competitively. This study advances fuzzy-based multi-criteria decision-making by integrating CIFS–SWARA–TOPSIS, ensuring reliable supplier selection under uncertainty and offering a replicable framework for decision-makers in the food industry.

Abstract

Recently, a lot of research has been carried out regarding graphs built from algebraic structures, including ring structures. One important example of a graph constructed from a ring is the zero divisor graph. For a commutative ring R, the zero divisor graph Γ(R) is defined as a simple graph with vertices that are non-zero zero divisors of R, and two distinct vertices are adjacent if and only if the product of the vertices is equal to zero. In this paper, we investigate the zero divisor graph of the quotient ring ℤp[x]/⟨x5⟩ with prime p. More precisely, we characterize some graph properties, including the order, size, adjacency matrix, degree, distance, diameter, girth, clique number, and chromatic number of Γ(ℤp[x]/⟨x5⟩).
