Abstract

Currently, human interactions' dynamics result in the escalation of social conflicts that are becoming increasingly difficult to resolve. The representation of social conflict is frequently illustrated in literary works, as elucidated in the Marxist sociology of literature theory. Therefore, this research aims to describe the causes of social conflict experienced by Arimbi as the main character in novel 86 based on the perspective of Marxist sociology of literature. The method used was descriptive qualitative with a library approach. The method used was descriptive qualitative with a library approach. This research conducts systematic research according to Creswell, specifically by (1) problem statement; (2) literature review; (3) research design; (4) data collection; (5) data analysis; (6) interpretation; and (7) conclusion. This research ‎results in the discovery, namely a portrait of social conflict in the form of troublesome, bribery, discrimination, economic disparity, collusion. The portrayals of social conflict stem from differences in stance, cultural disparities, and varying interests. Every cause of the social conflict originates from the thoughts or desires of individuals belonging to a social class higher than Arimbi. Conversely, as Arimbi's storyline nears its conclusion, she gets entangled in a conflict with the social class beneath her.

Abstract

Translation theory is all choices and decisions based on the experiences of each translator, which are subjective and result from a training process. So, in this study the authors aimed to test the effectiveness of the song translation method in increasing vocabulary to develop speaking skills in students of SDN 1 Paciran. This research is included in the type of quantitative research. And based on data collection techniques, this research is classified as experimental research, namely pre-experimental design by comparing one group pre-test and post-test. The song used is the song Los Dol Deny Cak Nan whose lyrics have been translated into Arabic. The data obtained were then analyzed using quantitative descriptive techniques with the help of IBM SPSS Statistics 26, so that researchers could find out how much influence the translation of songs had with the t-test. The results of this study indicate that translating songs in increasing vocabulary is very effective for developing the speaking skills of SDN 1 Paciran students, this is evidenced by the results of the paired sample test where sig. (2-tailed) shows the number 0.002.

Abstract

In developing bi'ah lughawiyah, which has been running since its inception, Al-Ishlah Islamic Boarding School Lamongan applied the Baina Yadaik Arabiyah textbook. This step was taken so the students could acculturate to the Arab-Islamic culture as contained in Baina Yadaik's Arabiyah book. So, this study aims to analyze Schumann's acculturation model in the Arabic book by Baina Yadaik for the development of bi'ah lughawiyah PP Al-Ishlah Lamongan. The methodology uses a descriptive qualitative research type based on Schumann's perspective. In addition, this study uses a literary approach with primary data sources in the form of Schumann's culturalization model in the book Al-Arabiyah Baina Yadaik. The results and discussion in this study include: 1) the acculturation model includes social variables, namely cultural domination, the pattern of integration, level of exposure to two language groups, level of cohesiveness of the second language learning group, size of the second language study group, level of conformity, and evaluation of attitudes between groups and also psychological variables including language shock, culture shock, ego permeability, motivation; 2) All aspects of cultural competency in Baina Yadaik's Arabiyah book which were developed in bi'ah lughawiyah PP Al-Ishlah Lamongan are in line with the social and psychological variables of the acculturation model from Schumann's perspective.

Abstract

Audacity is an application that is easy to apply and efficient in making it easier for educators to design listening skill lessons. Therefore, this research aimed to test the effectiveness of the listening skill learning media design using Audacity in the Special Arabic Language Development Program (PKPBA) in Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University, Malang. Researchers applied quantitative research methods. And based on data collection techniques, this research was classified as experimental research, namely a pre-experimental design by comparing one group pre-test and post-test. The pre-test and post-test applied by researchers was by giving a number of listening skill tests regarding professions. The data obtained was then analyzed using quantitative descriptive techniques with the help of IBM SPSS Statistics 26 in the paired samples test. The results of this research are: First, to be able to use the latest version of the Audacity (Audacity 3.3.2), with quality audio results that are easy for students to digest, you need to set several important features including: 1) Noise Redaction, 2) Normalize, 3) Compressor, 4) Filter Curve. Second, based on the results of the pre-test and post-test, the average difference between the two, namely 14.3. So, from these results that the use of the Audacity application is very effective for learning listening skills at PKPBA. Therefore, the novelty of this research is, learning Arabic by designing learning media using the Audacity very effective for improving students' listening skills in learning Arabic.
