Abstract

The digital era has significantly transformed the pattern of religious information consumption, particularly among millennials. The high accessibility of digital information necessitates strong digital literacy to enable individuals to critically and moderately assess religious narratives. This study aims to analyze the impact of digital literacy on the understanding of religious moderation among millennials in Tulungagung and to formulate strategies to enhance digital literacy to strengthen religious moderation. Using a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method, this study found that the level of digital literacy among millennials in Tulungagung varies. Factors such as education, access to credible sources, and the role of religious communities influence their understanding of religious moderation. The proposed strategies include integrating digital literacy into education, strengthening the role of religious organizations, and engaging religious figures in digital platforms. With a systematic implementation of these strategies, digital literacy can serve as a crucial instrument in reinforcing religious moderation values in the digital age.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the revitalization of government functions in the formulation of village regulations based on the theoretical framework of deconcentration and decentralization, with a multisite focus on Kendalbulur and Bendungan Villages, Indonesia. The research seeks to address the following questions:1. How do the authority and capacity of village governments influence the formulation of village regulations? 2. How is the involvement of public consultants integrated into the regulatory drafting process? 3. How is community participation manifested in the formulation of village regulations? 4. How do village regulations reflect the realization of good governance? Method: This study employs a qualitative approach with a multisite case study design, using in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis to explore the dynamics of village governance. Results: The findings show that the authority and administrative capacity of village governments play a crucial role in fostering good governance. The integration of deconcentration and decentralization theories, complemented by the moral perspective of Siyasyah Dusturiyyah, emphasizes the importance of ethical considerations in every stage of policy-making. The involvement of public consultants, although still limited by budgetary and administrative constraints, has proven effective in enhancing the technical quality, accountability, and transparency of village regulation drafting. Community participation remains largely symbolic, with limited impact on the substance of policy.  Novelty: This research offers novelty by integrating the perspectives of deconcentration, decentralization, and Islamic ethics of Siyasyah Dusturiyyah into the theoretical model of "Responsive and Equitable Governance", as a new framework in analyzing the formulation of ethical, participatory, and sustainable village policies.

Abstract

Marriage is a sacred institution that requires emotional and spiritual readiness for individuals who are about to enter family life. Santri, as the younger generation in the pesantren environment, generally possess normative knowledge of fiqh munakahat (Islamic marital jurisprudence), yet often lack adequate psychological and spiritual preparedness. This community service activity aimed to enhance the emotional and spiritual readiness of santri at Subulussalam Islamic Boarding School through premarital counseling based on a developmental approach. The program was implemented through needs assessment, interactive counseling sessions, communication skills training, conflict resolution simulations, and spiritual values mentoring. The results of the activity indicate a significant improvement in the santri’s knowledge, attitudes, and skills related to marital dynamics. The santri gained a better understanding of the importance of emotional regulation, spousal communication, family responsibility, and the spiritual values of sakinah, mawaddah, and rahmah. Collaboration between the pesantren and UIN SATU Tulungagung also resulted in a comprehensive premarital module that can be utilized as a sustainable program. This activity demonstrates that premarital counseling grounded in psychological, religious, and practical approaches is highly effective in preparing santri to face married life in a mature and responsible manner.
