Abstract

Pollinator insects are insects that play a role in pollination, namely intermediaries pollinating plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the abundance and diversity of insects pollinators in the Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L) Plantation of Waiheru Village, Baguala District, Ambon City. Sampling was done by purposive sampling using a yellow glue trap (Yellow sticky trap). The customer observations are made in visual control. Observation starts at 07.00 WIT until 18.00 WIT which is divided into 3 time periods, namely: 07.00-10.00 WIT, 11.00-14.00 WIT and 15.00-18.00 WIT. The data obtained were analyzed using the diversity index (H ') according to Shannon and Wiener. The results showed that the total abundance of pollinator insects in vegetable plantations was 1220 individuals, consisting of 3 orders and 5 families. Insect families that play a role in the process of pollination are Family Apidae, Formicidae, Syrpidae, Muscidae and Papilionidae. The highest abundance of insects is dominated by the Formicidae Family while the lowest abundance is the Papilionidae Family. Value insect pollinator diversity found among the sites that H '= 1.21 which indicates that the level of diversity of insect pollinators on plantations Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L) in the Waiheru Village, Baguala District, Ambon City in the medium category.

Abstract

Seagrass is a type of vegetation that is able to live and develop well in coastal areas and is a habitat for several types of marine animals, such as sea cucumbers, sea urchins, starfish and sea urchins. Seagrass is an organism that is susceptible to pollution of the coastal environment such as mercury (Hg) so that it has an impact on the chlorophyll content of seagrass leaves. This study aims to determine the content of heavy metal Hg and its relationship with the chlorophyll content of seagrass Enhalus acoroides in the waters of Marlosso and Nametek in Buru District Maluku Province. The study was conducted in May 2018 and laboratory analysis was conducted in June 2018. Samples were taken at two stations namely Nametek Beach and Muos Sungai Marlosso. The results showed that the content of heavy metal Hg in roots> rhizoma> seagrass leaves. The content of heavy metals and seagrass chlorophyll content has a negative correlation where the Hg metal has a correlation of (r = - 0.97) and indicates that the higher the content of heavy metals will reduce the seagrass chlorophyll content

Abstract

Protein is an important nutrient in the diet. The availability of protein in the diet is absolutely necessary as a source of building blocks for growth, replacement of damaged tissue and maintaining reproductive functions. In the preparation of a perfect ration, the balance of energy and protein, amino acids need to be considered because they determine the productivity and reproduction of chickens. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the use of protein and yeast culture in the ration on the mortality of Arabic chicken embryos. The observed effects include the interaction effect and the single effect of protein level and yeast culture in the ration on the mortality of Arabic chicken embryos. The research material is as many as 240 "Arabic Chickens" aged 28 weeks as experimental animals. Hatch eggs produced during the study (at the age of 28 to 36 weeks of production). The research method used is an experimental method with a completely randomized design with a factorial pattern of 3 x 4 with 5 replications. The treatments given were isocaloric ration (2850 kcal/kg) with different protein content (13%, 15% and 17%) and yeast culture with concentrations (0%; 0.2%; 0.4%; and 0.6 %). Ration and drinking water are provided ad libitum. Data analysis using ANOVA with further testing using Duncan's Multiple Range Test (Duncan's Multiple Range Test). he results showed that the level of protein use 13%, 15% and 17% did not interact with yeast culture 0%; 0.2%; 0.4%; and 0.6% on embryo mortality (P>0.5). However, the single effect of protein or yeast culture in the diet, individually gave a significant effect on embryo mortality (P

Abstract

Tulehu State Beach is a bay area which has quite busy activities because there is a port which is the sea gate of Tulehu State. This is suspected to have caused the coastal area of Tulehu to experience a decline in water quality and was polluted. Marine biota is an indicator of the quality of coastal waters that can provide information on the state of these waters in good condition or not. This study aims to determine the number and types of marine biota on the coast of Tulehu State Beach, Salahutu District, Central Maluku Regency and the pollution status of the coast of Tulehu State Beach based on marine biota as bioindicators. This research was conducted in February 2020 - March 2020. The method used in determining the location is purposive sampling which is divided into 3 stations based on the representation of different characteristics in the study location. Data analysis uses the Shannon-Wiener Diversity Index, Uniformity Index and Dominance Index. The results showed that there were 6 marine biota families, namely Littorinidae, Potamididae, Nerithidae, Muricidae, Portunidae and Pectinidae with 592 individuals. The status of pollution of the coast of the State of Tulehu shows polluted, unstable communities and there are species that dominate. Keywords: Pollution; Marine biota; Diversity; Bioindicator

Abstract

Seagrass is an aquatic iota that is capable of accumulating pollutants such as heavy metals dissolved in water. The waters of Marlosso and Nametek along the waters of Kayeli Bay are currently polluted due to illegal gold mining activities that use mercury (Hg) and anthropogenic activities that produce lead (Pb) pollutants that pollute these waters. Mercury (Hg) is a type of heavy metal BIII (toxic and dangerous material) which is toxic to all living things, either in its single form (metal) or in its compounds. While lead (Pb) is a heavy metal produced by human activities around the waters such as household and transportation waste. These pollutants can enter the waters with the help of rainwater. Heavy metal BIII that accumulates in waters can affect the organisms in it such as the morphology of seagrass organs. Identification of the morphological structure of the seagrass Enhalus acoroides using the SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) method with a magnification of 2000x. The research was carried out at the Laboratory of Minerals and Advanced Materials, State University of Malang, on June 24-August 24, 2021 and sampling in Marlosso and Nametek waters, Buru Regency, Maluku. The results showed that all seagrass organs had undergone morphological changes in the arrangement of irregular root fibers as well as rhizomes and leaves that experienced thickening of the epidermal cell walls as a form of adaptation to heavy metal absorption. Keywords: Seagrass, Morphology, Heavy metal, SEM
