Abstract

Kata kunci: pengabdian; lansia;, asam urat;deteksi dini; skrining; edukasi AbstractThis research aims to increase understanding and early detection of gout in the elderly in Dasan Cermen Village. Gout, which is often experienced by the elderly, is an inflammatory condition of the joints caused by high levels of uric acid in the blood which settles in the joints. The elderly's lack of understanding regarding gout is a challenge, so the "ASMARA Empowerment (Let's be Healthy with the Elderly)" program was held through education and screening for uric acid levels at the Dasan Cermen Village Health Post. This activity involved 15 elderly people and included education about the causes, symptoms and prevention of gout, as well as checking blood pressure and uric acid levels. The results showed that 54% of participants had high uric acid levels, and there was an increase in participants' understanding after education, as seen from the post-test results which were higher than the pre-test. This program has succeeded in increasing elderly awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle and early detection to manage gout. However, there are obstacles such as limited screening tools and the physical condition of the elderly that require special attention. In conclusion, this activity is effective in increasing awareness of elderly health and can be developed further for the sustainability of elderly health management in other communities. Keywords: community service; elderly; gout; early detection; screening; education

Abstract

Kata kunci: ibu nifas; komplikasi postpartum; edukasi kesehatan; anemia; hipertensi AbstractPostpartum complications are one of the main causes of high maternal mortality, especially in the first 42 days postpartum. Lack of education, low awareness of postpartum visits, and limited access to health services are the main factors for the occurrence of complications such as anemia and hypertension. This community service program aims to improve early detection of postpartum complications through the innovation of CERDAS (Routine Check and Education About Postpartum) which integrates participatory education and simple health checks. Activities were carried out on 15 postpartum women, using an action research method consisting of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Results showed a significant increase in maternal knowledge after the educational intervention, with posttest scores increasing from 13% to 93%. Examination of blood pressure and hemoglobin levels identified 13% of participants had grade I hypertension and 53% had mild anemia. This innovation proved effective in bridging the information gap and increasing maternal awareness of postpartum complications. This program is recommended for regular replication with cross-sector support to strengthen community-based maternal health services Keywords: postpartum mothers; postpartum complications; health education; anemia; hypertension
