Abstract

Abstract

Hadith occupies a central position in the normative structure of Islam as the second source of law after the Qur’an and the historical medium for transmitting the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). However, the humanistic nature of hadith narration makes the problem of authenticity an unavoidable epistemological issue. This article aims to analyze hadith criticism in Islam as a historical and scientific process that develops from personal belief to systematic methodological standards. This research uses a library study method with a historical-epistemological approach to classical and contemporary literature on hadith science. The results of the study indicate that hadith criticism has been present since the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) through direct verification mechanisms, developed during the era of the Companions and Tabi’in through the affirmation of the importance of sanad (chain of transmission), and reached methodological maturity in the codification and post-codification periods through the disciplines of rijāl, jarḥ wa ta’dīl, and musthalaḥ al-ḥadīth. In the medieval period, hadith criticism functioned as a means of preserving and perfecting the scientific heritage through the traditions of shari’ah and takhrij. Meanwhile, in the modern era, hadith criticism has been adaptive and dialogical in responding to the challenges of Orientalism and the Qur’anic scripturalism movement. This article asserts that hadith criticism is not a rejection of the Sunnah, but rather a foundation of scientific rationality that safeguards the Prophet’s authority from historical distortion and ensures its relevance throughout the ages.

Abstract

This article discusses the cosmos as a divine text by reconstructing the epistemology of Qur'anic interpretation in light of modern astrophysics. This approach emphasizes the integration of revelation, empirical observation, and philosophical reflection in understanding the phenomena of the universe. By examining Qur'anic cosmological verses hermeneutically and linking them to contemporary astrophysical discoveries, such as stellar evolution, black holes, cosmic background radiation, and the large-scale structure of the universe. The method used is qualitative with a philosophical hermeneutic approach model, where the primary sources are cosmological verses such as (Q.S. Ali 'Imran: 190), (Q.S. Yasin: 40), (Q.S. al-Dzariyat: 47), (Q.S. al-Anbiya’: 30), (Q.S. al-Qamar: 49), (Q.S. al-Hadid: 4), to (Q.S. al-Furqan: 59). The secondary sources are journals, books, or other relevant research. After the data is collected, a comparative thematic content analysis is conducted using a triangulation model to ensure data validity, and conclusions are drawn.  The study's results indicate that revelation and science complement each other in building a holistic, transdisciplinary, and relevant understanding of modern science. The proposed Integrative Cosmological Interpretation Model combines the bayani (textual), burhani (rational-empirical), and irfani (spiritual-intuitive) approaches, so that Qur'anic interpretation is not only descriptive, but also prescriptive, philosophical, and ethical. The epistemic and philosophical implications of this research open new perspectives in Qur'anic studies, strengthen the dialogue between science and revelation, and emphasize the cosmos as a medium for human intellectual and spiritual reflection.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) occupy a strategic position in Indonesia's economic structure, yet the financing they obtain is frequently accompanied by considerable default risk, particularly within sharia microfinance institutions and sharia cooperatives that serve as the primary source of capital for lower- and middle-tier business actors. This condition calls for a risk mitigation instrument that is not only commercially effective but also compliant with sharia principles, given that conventional collection approaches often conflict with muamalah ethics. This paper aims to formulate a conceptual model of receivables transfer based on the hiwalah al-haq contract as an instrument for mitigating MSME default risk within sharia cooperatives. The method employed is qualitative, using a literature study approach that examines the foundations of fiqh muamalah, fatwas of the National Sharia Council-Indonesian Ulama Council (DSN-MUI), and contemporary practices of the hiwalah contract in sharia financial institutions. The findings indicate that hiwalah al-haq can be adapted into a model for transferring collection rights from MSMEs facing payment difficulties to sharia cooperatives acting as muhal 'alaih, which then carry out collection professionally in exchange for a fixed ujrah, thereby avoiding riba and gharar practices commonly found in conventional factoring schemes. This model simultaneously realizes maqashid al-sharia in the form of property protection (hifdz al-mal) without compromising the dignity of debtors experiencing hardship.
