Abstract

Students with hearing loss are included among children with special needs.  Students with hearing loss are people with mild to severe hearing impairments. This study aims to determine the effect of body mapping media on the ability to recognize body parts in fourth-grade students with hearing loss at SLB YRTRW Surakarta in the 2024/2025 academic year. This study is a quantitative pre-experimental study with a one-group pretest-posttest research design. This data collection technique uses an action test obtained through observation. The validity technique in this study uses content validity which is calculated using Aiken's V formula. The reliability test in this study uses interrater reliability using the ICC calculation. The data that has been collected was analyzed using a non-parametric test in the form of the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test. The results of this study include the results of the assessment of the action test of the ability to recognize body parts of fourth-grade students with hearing loss. The average pretest score was 54.92, while the posttest score was 82.12. This study concludes that body mapping media affects the ability to recognize body parts in fourth-grade students with hearing loss at SLB YRTRW Surakarta in the 2024/2025 academic year.

Abstract

This research was conducted to discover the correlation between verbal-linguistic aptitude and investigative interest among adolescents with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at Special Education Schools in Solo Raya. The total sample consisted of 16 adolescents with ASD in the age group of 10 - 21 years. The sampling technique conducted for this research is purposive sampling. To meet the objective of the research, multiple intelligences aptitude and the vocational interest psychological scale by Yuliastuti (2022) were used. The data was analyzed by using descriptive analysis and a Kendall’s Tau statistical correlation type in SPSS 25. This research reveals a correlation coefficient of 0.310 with p = 0.124 (p > 0.05), indicating that there is no correlation between verbal-linguistic aptitude and investigative interest among adolescents with ASD in Special Education Schools in Solo Raya.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of mini billiards games on the concentration of autistic children at the Mitra Ananda Karanganyar Autism Center. This study uses a quantitative research method with a Single Subject Research (SSR) approach that applies an A-B-A design. The subjects of this study are 12-year-old children with autism spectrum disorder at the Mitra Ananda Karanganyar Autism Center. Data collection was conducted using an observation sheet with 10 items that assessed the children's lack of concentration in terms of concentration. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques with visual data analysis, including analysis within and between conditions. The results of the data analysis showed that subject T had an average duration of non concentration behavior of 393.55 seconds in the baseline-1 phase (A1), 365.27 seconds in the intervention phase (B), and 278.44 seconds in the baseline-2 phase (A2). These data indicate a decrease in non-concentration behavior in subject T after using the mini billiard game intervention. The results of the study show a low percentage of overlap, indicating that the mini billiard game has an effect on the concentration of autistic children at the Mitra Ananda Karanganyar Autism Center.
