Abstract

Islamic character building in the work environment is an important element in creating an organizational culture with integrity, ethics, and productivity. The theories used as a foundation in this study include the theory of character education and Islamic education values. Then this study aims to analyze the Islamic education approach in building Islamic character in Ruangguru employees, a leading education technology company in Indonesia. This approach involves applying Islamic values such as honesty, responsibility, hard work, and caring through training programs, mentoring, and a work culture that supports spiritual learning. This research uses a qualitative method with data collection through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The results show that Islamic character building not only improves individual employee morality but also strengthens team cohesion and overall company performance. By consistently applying Islamic values, Ruangguru is able to become a model organization that is oriented towards success in this world and the hereafter.

Abstract

Low student participation in communication during Arabic language learning often poses a significant barrier to the development of language proficiency. One of the psychological factors believed to influence this participation is self-confidence, which is closely associated with the concept of Willingness to Communicate (WTC). WTC reflects an individual's readiness to initiate communication in a second or foreign language, and it is considered a critical predictor of successful language use in instructional contexts. This study aims to investigate the relationship between self-confidence and WTC in the context of Arabic language learning. Employing a quantitative research design with a survey approach, data were collected through a structured questionnaire administered to university students. The data were then analyzed using correlation techniques to examine the strength and direction of the relationship between the two variables. The findings indicate a significant positive correlation between self-confidence and WTC, suggesting that students with higher self-confidence levels are more likely to engage actively in communication during language learning activities. These results contribute to the field of language education by highlighting the importance of psychological factors in communicative competence. The study underscores the need to incorporate strategies that foster students’ self-confidence as a means to enhance their willingness to communicate, thereby promoting more effective and interactive Arabic language instruction.

Abstract

Abstract: The moral crisis among the younger generation, such as deviant behavior and lack of sense of responsibility, prompts the need for an effective character education approach. This study is a qualitative research that aims to analyze the values of noble morals in hadith with a thematic approach and explore their implementation in character education. The research method uses literature review with thematic analysis of relevant traditions, including the values of honesty, patience, responsibility, and compassion. The main data sources came from primary hadith books such as Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, and other thematic hadith books, which were purposively selected based on the theme of morals. The research instrument is a thematic analysis guide that is compiled based on the theoretical framework of morals in Islam and character education. The analysis technique used the descriptive-analytical method to categorize and interpret the hadith according to the theme, as well as to assess their relevance to moral challenges in character education. The integration of noble moral values in the education system not only improves individual morality, but also supports the formation of spiritually and socially resilient characters. Thus, the noble moral values contained in the hadith have great potential to be internalized in character education, so that they can be an effective solution to overcome the moral crisis.Abstrak: Krisis moral di kalangan generasi muda, seperti perilaku menyimpang dan kurangnya rasa tanggung jawab, mendorong perlunya pendekatan pendidikan karakter yang efektif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis nilai-nilai akhlak mulia dalam hadis dengan pendekatan tematik dan mengeksplorasi implementasinya dalam pendidikan karakter. Metode penelitian menggunakan kajian kepustakaan dengan analisis tematik terhadap hadis-hadis yang relevan, meliputi nilai-nilai kejujuran, kesabaran, tanggung jawab, dan kasih sayang. Sumber data utama berasal dari kitab-kitab hadis primer seperti Shahih Bukhari, Shahih Muslim, serta kitab hadis tematik lainnya, yang dipilih secara purposive berdasarkan tema akhlak. Instrumen penelitian berupa panduan analisis tematik yang disusun berdasarkan kerangka teori akhlak dalam Islam dan pendidikan karakter. Teknik analisis menggunakan metode deskriptif-analitis untuk mengelompokkan dan menginterpretasikan hadis sesuai temanya, serta menilai relevansinya terhadap tantangan moral dalam pendidikan karakter.Temuan utama menunjukkan bahwa hadis mengandung nilai-nilai yang strategis dalam membangun karakter peserta didik, yang relevan untuk mengatasi tantangan moral era modern. Pengintegrasian nilai-nilai akhlak mulia dalam sistem pendidikan tidak hanya meningkatkan moralitas individu, tetapi juga mendukung pembentukan karakter yang tangguh secara spiritual dan social. Sehingga nilai-nilai akhlak mulia yang terkandung dalam hadis memiliki potensi besar untuk diinternalisasi dalam pendidikan karakter, sehingga dapat menjadi solusi efektif untuk mengatasi krisis moral.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of the RMS (Reading, Mind Mapping, and Sharing) model in improving the evaluation results of Balāgah learning. This study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design. The population consisted of Arabic Language Education students at UIN Sunan Kalijaga and a sample of 28 students was purposively selected from one class that met the criteria for full RMS implementation. Data were obtained from Balāgah learning evaluations given as pretests and posttests, supported by instruments that had passed expert validation and reliability testing. Data were collected through written tests and analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired sample t-tests, and Cohen's d to measure effect sizes. The results showed a highly significant improvement in students' evaluation performance, indicated by an increase in the average score from 53.79 to 83.43, a significant paired t-test result (p < 0.001), and a Cohen's d effect size of 4.52, which is categorized as very large. These results confirm that strengthening reading skills, visualizing concepts through mind maps, and engaging in collaborative sharing activities can improve students' analytical understanding. Therefore, the RMS model has proven to be effective for use in Balāgah learning.

Abstract

The limited of speaking skill among learners of Arabic remains a common issue in many Islamic educational institutions. Although Arabic is formally taught, many students are still unable to use it effectively as a means of communication. This study employed a quantitative descriptive approach to investigate the influence of bi’ah lughawiyyah on maharah kalām among 136 students of MTs Muallimin Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. A Likert-scale questionnaire was used as the research instrument, developed based on theoretical indicators of language acquisition and speaking skills. Data were analyzed using normality tests, linearity tests, and simple linear regression through SPSS. The findings revealed that students’ bi’ah lughawiyyah was in the high category, while their maharah kalām ranged from moderately good to high. Regression analysis indicated a significant influence between the two variables Sig. 0.000 < 0.05 with a contribution of 13.7%. These results indicate that a stronger language environment corresponds to higher speaking ability, although other factors also play a role. In conclusion, bi’ah lughawiyyah contributes significantly to the improvement of maharah kalām, but it is not the sole determinant of speaking competence.
