Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesalahan mahasiswa dalam memahami konsep grup pada mata kuliah Struktur Aljabar. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, melibatkan tes dan wawancara terhadap mahasiswa program studi matematika Univeritas Negeri Medan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan mahasiswa meliputi kurangnya pemahaman terhadap definisi grup, kesalahan dalam membuktikan sifat-sifat grup seperti asosiatif, identitas, dan invers, serta kesulitan dalam memahami operasi biner. Faktor-faktor penyebab kesalahan ini mencakup kurangnya penguasaan konsep dasar, minimalnya latihan soal, dan rendahnya keterkaitan antara teori dan aplikasinya. Temuan ini menegaskan perlunya strategi pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif dan aplikatif dalam pengajaran Struktur Aljabar. Pendekatan berbasis pemecahan masalah, diskusi kelompok, serta pemberian umpan balik yang konstruktif dapat membantu mahasiswa membangun pemahaman yang lebih mendalam. Rekomendasi ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran dan meminimalisir kesalahan mahasiswa dalam memahami konsep grup.

Abstract

This journal aims to analyze the increase in City Transportation (Angkot) fares in North Sumatra in 2023. In recent years, public transportation fares in the region have experienced significant changes. This research was conducted to understand the factors that influence the increase in public transportation fares and their impact on public transportation users in North Sumatra. The method used in this study includes primary and secondary data collection, as well as descriptive statistical analysis to analyze changes in public transportation fares.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of students' mathematical literacy skills through the application of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach compared to Teacher Centered Learning (TCL), and to analyze the interaction between the learning approaches and students' Adversity Quotient (AQ) levels. The method used was a quasi-experiment with subjects of grade VIII students at SMP IT Nurul Fadhilah Percut Sei Tuan. The research instruments included an Adversity Response Profile (ARP) questionnaire and a mathematical literacy test. The results showed an increase in mathematical literacy skills in students who learned using the RME approach, with an N-gain of 0.589 higher than the class using TCL. This study also found an interaction between the learning approach and AQ levels on students' mathematical literacy skills. Students in the climbers category showed better resilience and ability in solving mathematical problems than students categorized as campers or quitters. This finding confirms that the application of contextual learning such as RME with strengthening non-cognitive aspects such as AQ, has an important role in improving students' mathematical literacy.
