Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a significant effect of spatial ability on student’s mathematical problem solving skills in class XII MAN 2 AGAM in the 2024/2025 school year. This type of research is an ex posst facto research with quantitative research methods until this study is 30% of each XII MAN 2 AGAM class so that 38 students are obtained. The data collections technique used in this study is a test on each variable. The results showed that the average score os spatial ability reached 78,03% in the high category and the average score of student’s math problem solving ability of 73,58% was in the good category based on the correlation coefficient value of 0,491 which showed a moderate relationship so that is was found that spatial ability had a significant effect on mathematical problem solving ability.

Abstract

Negative mindset will have an impact on students’ mentality when continuing their studies to a higher level. Basically, mathematics looks difficult only because students do not understand the basic materials. This happens due to a lack of motivation possessed by students which can be a result of low Islamic spiritual intelligence possessed by students. With good mental readiness conditions will be able to create effective learning. The research method that researchers use is the literature review method, which is a synthesis of the works of thought produced by previous researchers. Spiritual intelligence according to the Islamic perspective teaches us that seeking knowledge is obligatory for every Muslim. There are several factors that influence student learning readiness including physical conditions (mental and emotional), needs (motives and goals), skills, knowledge that has been learned. Based on the research that researchers have conducted, there is a positive and significant relationship between spiritual intelligence and readiness students’ mental motivation to learn mathematics. Abstract

Mathematics is one of the fields of study studied by students in Indonesia. This mathematics has been introduced from kindergarten to university level. Mathematics not only validates numbers, but also teaches humans about structured thinking patterns in solving problems. So this will have an impact on a person's character in their daily life. The aim of this research is to describe changes in student character in the context of mathematics learning that is integrated with Islamic values. Data on changes in student character was obtained by distributing questionnaires to 23 grade 8 students at SMP Negeri 2 Sungai Pua. The results of this research are that students' character can be said to be still not good, looking at the aspect of hard work reaching the highest level of 47.82% or 11 students, while the honest aspect shows the lowest level of 26.08% or only involving 6 students.
