Abstract

Higher education is not only aimed at transferring knowledge, but also at forming strong characters in students. Islamic religious education in higher education can be a strong foundation in developing students' characters. Good character is an important aspect in preparing students to face the challenges of life in the future, both professionally and personally. Therefore, research on the development of student character based on Islamic religious education is very relevant. This study aims to develop an effective Islamic Religious Education (PAI) model in building student character in higher education and to assess the effectiveness of the model in practice. In addition, this study also provides recommendations for the development of more effective Islamic religious education. The research methodology involves the development of an educational model based on Islamic religious principles through a participatory approach, followed by the implementation of the model in several higher education institutions. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews with students and lecturers, and observations of PAI activities. The results of the study showed that the developed model succeeded in improving several aspects of student character, including integrity, responsibility, and empathy. Evaluation of the effectiveness of the model indicated a significant increase in student character development that was in line with Islamic values. Recommendations for further development include deeper integration of Islamic principles in the curriculum, training for lecturers, and ongoing evaluation to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of the model. This research is expected to provide significant contributions to efforts to develop student character through Islamic religious education in higher education.

Abstract

Inappropriate feeding and undetected pond leaks are two major problems in ornamental fish farming that can reduce productivity and operational efficiency. This research aims to develop an Internet of Things (IoT)-based Smart Fish Feeding system capable of automating feeding and monitoring pond conditions in real-time. The system consists of an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor to detect feed amounts, a JSN-SR04T sensor to measure water levels, and an ESP32-Cam for visual monitoring. This device is also equipped with a Solenoid Water Valve to automatically regulate water levels and can be controlled via an Android application connected to the Firebase service. This research used a qualitative method with an observational approach and rapid prototyping to design and test the prototype directly at the cultivation site. The test results showed that the system was able to carry out feeding schedules accurately and consistently, and produced an average feed weight per second of 16.38 grams. The developed system has been proven to facilitate fish maintenance and pond management, and has the potential to increase efficiency and responsiveness in ornamental fish farming operations.

Abstract

This research aims to increase students' active participation in PAI learning using a cooperative team games tournament (TGT) type method. TGT cooperative learning is a learning model that allows students to learn and work in small groups in a collaborative and diverse group environment. This type of research is PTK (Classroom Action Research). PTK is carried out in 2 cycles. The PTK stages include the teacher identifying problems to plan action, implementing it, observing the results, and reflecting on it to continue to improve learning in the classroom. As a result, in the second cycle (II) the active participation of individual students increased to 30 people with a percentage of 92.5%. This shows the difference in the increase in cycles 1 and 2, namely 41%, so this percentage can be said to mean that almost all students have been able to show that their participation process has become active in learning. Based on the PTK that was implemented in cycles 1 and 2, it can be concluded that the researchers succeeded in implementing the Team Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model in PAI subjects. This model makes lessons interesting and fun, and attracts students to participate actively.
