Abstract

The output of statistics learning in Islamic religious education study programs still tends to need to be improved. This has an impact on the next prerequisite course, namely quantitative research methodology learning. This study aims to evaluate the statistics learning process in Islamic religious education study programs. The evaluation model used in this study is the Stake Countenance Model which consists of three evaluation steps, namely antecedent, transaction, and outcomes. The subjects of this study were 104 students who took statistics courses. The instruments used in this study were RPP observation sheets, assessment documentation sheets, and interview guidelines. This study uses a quantitative research approach supported by qualitative data. The results of the study show that (1) the lecture implementation plan in one semester of statistics courses is in the good category (90.50%), (2) the statistics learning process, both practice and theory, is in the good category (87.75%), (3) student assessment documents are in the fairly good category (71.25%), (4) overall, the lecture program in statistics courses shows that no less than 75% of students are classified as students above the minimum completion.

Abstract

This study focuses on the development of an instrument to assess the effectiveness of experiential-based Islamic learning at the tertiary level. This research is categorized as an instrument development study, with students serving as the respondents. The sampling method employed is a stratified technique, classifying students based on their experience and participation in experiential-based Islamic religious learning. A total of 93 students from undergraduate programs in Islamic Religious Education and Sharia Banking were deemed eligible to participate. The study successfully developed a quality instrument for measuring experiential-based learning, validated through construct analysis, as well as assessed for reliability. The instrument demonstrates a high validity (0.813) and good reliability (0.909). It is supported by the identification of key components that constitute experiential-based Islamic learning (EBL), which are categorized into three aspects: independence (SD), problem-solving (PCO), and experience as a learning resource (ELS). The results indicate a favorable tendency toward the successful implementation of each aspect. Based on these findings, it is recommended that educators focus on improving the design, execution, and evaluation of the learning process. Future researchers are encouraged to develop measurement models for assessing material understanding within the context of experiential learning.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the quality of the religious literacy assessment instrument and describe the religious literacy of elementary school students in IRE. This type of research is quantitative research with an instrument development approach using the Mardapi development model. The instrument is in the form of 25 multilevel multiple-choice questions, validated by three experts, and piloted on 233 students from nine elementary schools in the Special Region of Yogyakarta selected through a stratified random sampling technique. These schools represent high, medium, and low categories, so the results reflect the diversity of student ability levels. The analysis shows that the instrument is categorized as suitable for use, with high validity (0.85) and high reliability (0.80). The instrument is also assessed to meet scientific standards through Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), so it is able to measure religious literacy objectively and comprehensively. The measurement results show that the level of religious literacy of students is still low, namely 33.00%. This finding provides important insights for IRE teachers to develop more meaningful and transformative learning evaluations. In addition, the instruments developed can be a reference for other schools in developing comprehensive evaluations, while also building a religious, tolerant, and critical generation in facing the challenges of the times.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to develop a valid and reliable instrument to measure the religious literacy of prospective teachers in the Society 5.0 era. Religious literacy is a crucial aspect that prospective teachers must possess to face the challenges of 21st-century education and serve as role models for students.Method – This study employed a development model with FGDs involving 7 experts to validate the instrument. The 25-item instrument covers five dimensions: religious knowledge, digital literacy use, digital learning skills, attitudes and values, and digital ethics. It was tested on 172 Islamic Education teacher candidates from various LPTKs, with data analyzed using EFA and CFA. Despite using a Likert scale, ML estimation was applied, as commonly done when scales have five or more categories. Findings – The analysis results showed that the instrument had good construct validity and high reliability (? = 0.915). The instrument developed in this study initially consisted of 34 items, which were then reduced to 25 items based on the results of a review by 9 experts using the Aiken Formula. Research Implications – This instrument acts as a competency map to guide educational institutions in developing more focused and contextual digital religious literacy programs. Thus, integrating digital religious literacy into the curriculum and academic culture is essential to prepare Islamic Education teachers who are both professional and exemplary in promoting moderate, wise, and relevant religious values in the digital era.
