Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze cultural greetings based on the linguistic structures of the Wemale and Alune tribes in Maluku. This qualitative research employs an ethnographic approach and was conducted across eight sub-districts in Western Seram Regency, Maluku Province. Data collection methods included observation, interviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). Data analysis followed Spradley's model, which comprises four phases: domain analysis, taxonomic analysis, componential analysis, and cultural theme analysis. The study identified 20 traditional greetings from the indigenous peoples in the Western Seram Regency. Ten of these greetings were recommended for official use, and six were selected as the primary cultural greetings based on the linguistic structures of the Wemale and Alune tribes. These greetings are Ho Salamate, Sou Salamate, Tabea Salamate, Mese, Upu Ana, and Sopai. This research contributes to the preservation and revitalization of the Wemale and Alune languages by proposing standardized cultural greetings that reflect the linguistic and cultural heritage of these tribes. The findings also support the integration of these greetings into local education curricula to promote cultural sustainability.

Abstract

Greetings serve as a means of expressing the identity of a region. Adat greetings have been preserved within tribes or small community groups, stemming from ancestors' lives in each area. The Wemale and Alune tribes hold significant positions and have played a crucial role in disseminating the Maluku language. This study aims to explore adat greetings through the lens of language structure. Employing a qualitative research methodology with an ethnographic approach, the research was conducted across eight sub-districts in the Western Seram Regency (SBB). Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The data were analyzed using the four phases of the Spradley Model, which encompasses descriptive, structural, and contrastive analysis, and thematic analysis to understand the nuances of language structure at both macro and micro levels. The findings revealed that the indigenous people of SBB possess at least 20 adat greetings. Eleven of these have been proposed as conventional greetings for official occasions, while six are recommended for use as conventional adat greetings during adat ceremonies or official events. These adat greetings are intended to signify a significant milestone in the renewal and sustainability of the languages of both tribes in a regenerative and sustainable manner.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the quality of the religious literacy assessment instrument and describe the religious literacy of elementary school students in IRE. This type of research is quantitative research with an instrument development approach using the Mardapi development model. The instrument is in the form of 25 multilevel multiple-choice questions, validated by three experts, and piloted on 233 students from nine elementary schools in the Special Region of Yogyakarta selected through a stratified random sampling technique. These schools represent high, medium, and low categories, so the results reflect the diversity of student ability levels. The analysis shows that the instrument is categorized as suitable for use, with high validity (0.85) and high reliability (0.80). The instrument is also assessed to meet scientific standards through Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), so it is able to measure religious literacy objectively and comprehensively. The measurement results show that the level of religious literacy of students is still low, namely 33.00%. This finding provides important insights for IRE teachers to develop more meaningful and transformative learning evaluations. In addition, the instruments developed can be a reference for other schools in developing comprehensive evaluations, while also building a religious, tolerant, and critical generation in facing the challenges of the times.

Abstract

Inequality is a condition characterized by an unbalanced assessment process. Physical and psychological factors, both those measuring and those being measured, may impact assessment inequality. The purpose of this research was to highlight the potential inequity in the performance assessment of madrasas in underdeveloped areas. A quantitative research design was employed. The data were collected using a questionnaire instrument that had been proven valid and reliable.  Path analysis was used to determine both direct and indirect effects. The findings showed that measurement errors related to the instruments used have a direct positive effect on inequality in the performance assessment of madrasas in underdeveloped areas, as well as an indirect effect mediated through teacher quality. One alternative solution to reducing the imbalance in assessing the performance of madrasas in underdeveloped areas can be implemented through policy dimensions, including macro, meso, and micro dimensions.
