Abstract

Pendidikan karakter memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk perilaku sosial siswa di lingkungan sekolah maupun masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pendidikan karakter terhadap perilaku sosial siswa/i di SMA Negeri 1 Beringin. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada 100 siswa serta wawancara dengan guru dan staf sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat korelasi positif antara pendidikan karakter dan perilaku sosial siswa, di mana siswa yang mendapatkan pendidikan karakter yang baik cenderung memiliki sikap sopan santun, empati, serta keterlibatan aktif dalam kegiatan sosial. Oleh karena itu, pendidikan karakter perlu terus diterapkan dan dikembangkan dalam kurikulum sekolah untuk menciptakan generasi yang berakhlak mulia dan berjiwa sosial tinggi. Character education has an important role in shaping students' social behavior in the school environment and society. This study aims to analyze the influence of character education on the social behavior of students at SMA Negeri 1 Beringin. The method used in this study is quantitative with a descriptive approach. Data was collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 students as well as interviews with teachers and school staff. The results of the study showed that there was a positive correlation between character education and students' social behavior, where students who received good character education tended to have a polite attitude, empathy, and active involvement in social activities. Therefore, character education needs to continue to be applied and developed in the school curriculum to create a generation with noble character and high social spirit.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of collaborative reading activities on students’ reading comprehension in hortatory texts. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design involving one group of students. The data were collected through a pre-test, and a post-test of 20 multiple-choice questions focused on hortatory texts. The treatment was done through collaborative reading activities, where students worked in groups to read, discuss, and analyze the given texts. After the treatment, the results revealed a significant improvement in students’ reading comprehension. The mean score increased from the pre-test to the post-test, reaching an average of 82.35. Furthermore, the result of the t-test calculation showed that the obtained t-value (8.855) was higher than the t-table value (1.740) at a significance level of 0.05, indicating a statistically significant difference. These findings suggest collaborative reading activities effectively enhance student's understanding of hortatory texts. The study recommends using collaborative strategies in reading classes to foster deeper comprehension and critical thinking.
