Abstract

In response to this interpretation of science, there are two groups of scholars: opposers and supporters. In fact, many contemporary scholars are more moderate in responding to the interpretation of "knowledge" because the scientific theories are not the final form of interpretation or the Qur'an is not the book of science but the Book of guidance and mercy for human life. There is an attempt to justify that the Qur'an contains all knowledge, religion and general. This article aims to analyze the history of the emergence of the scientific interpretation, methods and approaches, the description of the intellectual interpretation of the process of human creation by Thanthawî. The research is carried out using methods of library study using sources from books and articles. This article discusses the upcoming cycle of tafsir ilmi beginning in the golden age of Islamic victories in the Abbasid dynasty. Study of the scientific interpretation of the Qur'an by using the methods of tahlîlî and scientific approaches.

Abstract

Abstract

Of the many tafsir books, Tafsir al-Kasyaf by al-Zamakhsyari is a book of tafsir that has a broad scope which is thought to have Mu'tazilah nuances in it. It was felt that previous studies had not yet optimally dissected the nuances of mutism in this book of tafsir, for this reason this research using the literature method was designed to explore this matter more deeply. The results of the research show that Tafsir al-Kasyaf is convincingly proven to have Mu'tazilah nuances by excluding one chapter, namely the Al-Qur'an is Kalamullah according to al-Zamakhsyari.

Abstract

This study concludes that digital literacy plays a vital role in countering disinformation in the era of technological advancement and information openness. Based on a comparative analysis of Tafsir at-Ṭabari (classical) and Tafsir al-Miṣbāḥ (contemporary), both interpretations emphasize the importance of tabayyun (information verification), as found in QS. Al-Ḥujurāt [49]: 6. Tafsir at-Ṭabari stresses the necessity of verifying reports from untrustworthy sources to prevent decisions based on falsehoods, while Tafsir al-Miṣbāḥ contextualizes this principle in the digital age by promoting information filtering, source evaluation, and critical awareness. This conclusion is further reinforced by Jean Baudrillard’s theory of hyperreality, in which truth is often replaced by what becomes viral, rather than factual. F. Budi Hardiman adds that today’s digital society is polarized between two extremes: religious radicalism and post-truth relativism both of which exacerbate the spread of disinformation. Hence, ethical and critically informed digital literacy is essential for safeguarding information integrity and fostering a healthy digital environment. The findings are consistent with previous scholarly works. For instance, Panji Ansari and Abdillah (2022) emphasize the relevance of QS. 49:6 in combating hoaxes through tabayyun, source awareness, and media discernment. Similarly, various Islamic communication studies underscore media literacy and verification as collective efforts against misinformation. These similarities reveal a convergence between Islamic scriptural interpretation and contemporary academic perspectives regarding the urgency of digital literacy to uphold social harmony amid rampant falsehood. Nonetheless, this thesis offers a broader and more interdisciplinary approach than earlier works. Rocky Romansyah (2022), for example, focuses solely on contemporary exegesis without incorporating philosophical frameworks. Muhammad Thaef Ashshiddiqi (2019) adopts a normative-descriptive method without comparing classical and modern tafsir. Likewise, Dwi Putri Aulia’s (2018) study is limited to anti-hoax activism without engaging tafsir or theoretical analysis. This thesis therefore presents a distinct contribution by integrating Qur’anic values with philosophical thought. The methodology employed is qualitative-descriptive using a library research approach with comparative analysis. Primary sources include Tafsir Jāmi‘ al-Bayān by al-Ṭabari and Tafsir al-Miṣbāḥ by Quraish Shihab. Secondary sources involve literature on digital literacy, disinformation, and the works of Jean Baudrillard and F. Budi Hardiman. Analysis was conducted through interpretation of tafsir texts, thematic comparison between classical and modern perspectives, and theoretical integration to formulate an ethical-literary framework for addressing digital disinformation effectively.

Abstract

This study examines the reconstruction of Islamic legal reasoning toward halal regulation in a secular Muslim-minority state, analyzing Australia's regulatory framework (the Export Control Act 2020, Australian Standard AS 4696:2023) alongside fatwas and institutional guidelines issued by SICHMA, ICCV, ANIC, and AFIC between 2013 and 2024, through a doctrinal-analytical approach. Analysis of these regulatory documents and fatwas shows that the Islamic legal bodies examined have consistently responded to secular regulatory pressure reactively, without developing a coherent maqāṣid al-sharī’ah-based framework of reasoning, as evidenced by ANIC and AFIC's divergent positions on controlled atmospheric stunning in 2023. This pattern produces three institutional consequences, identifiable from the same data: communal confusion in the face of inconsistent certification, fragmentation of religious identity, and the erosion of the legitimacy of Islamic legal authority. Building on this analysis, the study proposes the Contextual Halal Legal Navigation Model (CHLNM), a maqāṣid al-sharī’ah-grounded framework integrating textual foundation, contextual awareness, maqāṣid orientation, and educational internalization, as a legal-theoretical contribution that repositions Islamic law not as a mechanism of administrative compliance but as an adaptive process of ethical formation responsive to secular regulatory contexts.

Abstract

The study of Tafsīr Aḥkām is to examine the interpretation of Al-Qur'an verses related to Islamic sharia laws. The main aim of this research is to analyze the methods and approaches used by mufasir (interpreters) in explaining and understanding legal verses, as well as how these interpretations are applied in the lives of Muslims. This research covers several important aspects, such as: the epistemology of Tafsīr Aḥkām, various schools of thought in the book of Tafsīr Aḥkām, along with examples of their interpretation. The research results show that Tafsīr Aḥkām has a crucial role in shaping the understanding and application of Islamic law. Differences in interpretive methods and legal approaches result in variations in the interpretation of legal verses, which in turn influence the religious practices and social life of Muslims. This paper also emphasizes the importance of understanding the complexity and diversity in ahkam interpretation to support constructive dialogue and a deeper understanding of Islamic law. Thus, this research contributes to the development of Islamic interpretation and law studies, as well as enriching insight into how Islamic law can be implemented effectively in various contexts.
