Abstract

This research examines the role of Sahabat Yatim Medan Aksara Orphanage in fostering the potential and self-confidence of foster children. Orphans often face emotional, social, and educational challenges due to the loss of a parental figure. This qualitative research uses in-depth interviews and direct observation methods involving foster children, staff, and orphanage facilities. The results showed that the orphanage programs are designed to meet the physical, social, and emotional needs of the children through sports activities, arts, religious education, and emotional support from the caregivers. Children are given the opportunity to explore their interests and talents, improving their self-confidence and academic performance. Adequate facilities such as study rooms, a small library, and computers support their learning process. This study concludes that Sahabat Yatim Medan Aksara Orphanage plays an important role in creating a safe and supportive environment for children's development. The study implies the importance of developing skills training programs and improving educational facilities to ensure the children's future success.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze errors in scientific writing by students in several universities in Indonesia, identify the factors that cause them, and provide recommendations for improvement. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method with a questionnaire survey distributed to 100 students from various universities in North Sumatra selected by convenience sampling method. The questionnaire covered understanding of paper format, frequency of writing, level of difficulty, training experience, factors causing errors, and proposed solutions. The results showed that students generally have a good understanding of the basic structure of term papers, but there are still weaknesses in technical aspects such as spacing, margins, and title writing. Factors causing errors include lack of understanding of the material, technical formatting errors, and lack of attention to detail. This study recommends more specific and practical writing training to improve the quality of students' academic writing.

Abstract

Pembangunan manusia merupakan tujuan utama dari proses pembangunan suatu daerah, yang tidak hanya berfokus pada pertumbuhan ekonomi semata, tetapi juga mencakup peningkatan kualitas hidup masyarakat secara menyeluruh. Indeks Pembangunan Manusia (IPM) adalah salah satu indikator yang sering digunakan sebagai tolok ukur utama untuk menilai kualitas pembangunan suatu wilayah dan menjadi dasar perumusan kebijakan pembangunan yang berorientasi pada manusia. Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh Produk Domestik Regional Bruto (PDRB) per kapita dan Rata-rata Lama Sekolah (RLS) terhadap Indeks Pembangunan Manusia (IPM) di Provinsi Bali dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif-asosiatif. Data panel dari sembilan kabupaten/kota selama periode 20162024 dianalisis menggunakan regresi linear berganda dan Generalized Least Squares (GLS) untuk mengatasi permasalahan heteroskedastisitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa baik PDRB per kapita maupun RLS berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap IPM, dengan model akhir menjelaskan 96,77% variasi IPM di wilayah studi. Koefisien regresi yang signifikan secara statistik menegaskan bahwa peningkatan kesejahteraan ekonomi dan akses pendidikan formal secara langsung meningkatkan kualitas pembangunan manusia di Bali. Implikasi temuan ini menyoroti pentingnya integrasi antara kebijakan ekonomi dan pendidikan dalam upaya meningkatkan IPM secara berkelanjutan, serta memberikan rekomendasi berbasis data bagi pembuat kebijakan daerah untuk merancang strategi pembangunan yang efektif dan inklusif, khususnya di daerah dengan karakteristik sosial-ekonomi unik seperti Bali.
