Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of being able to find out the factors that influence the income of women informal sector workers in Indonesia in 2014 based on data from the 2014 batch 5 Indonesian family life survey (IFLS-5). IFLS 5 data is the latest data conducted by several institutions. such as rand meters, survey meters and the demographic institute of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia (LD FEB UI). Based on the existing problems, namely female workers contribute 38% of the total national workforce and the informal sector absorbs the highest workforce in Indonesia, which is equal to 69%, but it is ironic because the informal sector has the lowest income level compared to other sectors. This study took a sample of 2,294 respondents taken from 13 provinces in Indonesia. Respondents were filtered based on age with a range of 15-65 years. With the dependent variable income of women workers and the independent variables education level, age, marital status, working hours, work experience and job training. From the results of statistical tests conducted, it shows that 31% of the independent variables partially affect the dependent variable, and the rest are influenced by independent variables outside the research model. The results of multiple linear tests show that the independent variables of education level, age, working hours, work experience and job training are significantly independent variables that can explain the effect on the variable income of women informal sector workers in Indonesia. Keywords: IFLS-5, Female Workforce, Income of Informal Sector Female Workers.

The empirical debate of foreign bank loans as an international intermediation transfer from industrialized to developing market economies, which concentrated on expenses and advantages, has continued. Our manuscript analyzes the determinants of US bank loans in selected Southeast Asian emerging markets. The most critical variables, based on the statistical approach built around the system-GMM, have a considerable effect on the growth rates of the origin and destination countries. Remarkably, the exchange rate significantly becomes a risk indicator which decrease the US bank flow. Finally, shock in the US economy has been transmitted to the Southeast Asian economies through foreign bank flow.

Food security is closely related to community welfare and poverty. The ultimate goal of food security is to improve human welfare which can be seen from the fulfillment of one's right to food. The type of data used in this study is the data from March 2019 Susenas DI Yogyakarta. The research includes measuring the degree of food security using indicators of household income and nutritional consumption. This study uses a factor analysis of the CFA (Confirmatory Factor Analysis) method. Resilience at the national level is based on resilience at the household level. For this reason, a study on household variables is the focus of the government in realizing food security. This study identifies 13 variables of household characteristics, identification using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) to classify the variables into factors/dimensions of food security. Based on the results of research, 13 household characteristics variables are divided into 4 factors, namely the Dimension of Food Availability including the level of consumption of calories/capita/day, household BPNT acceptance in quintile 2, rice prices, and expenditure groups per capita with a loading factor of 0.80 are the dominant variables. The Food Stability dimension includes the sex of the head of the household, the number of household members, and the variable of the marital status of the head of the household is the dominant variable with a factor loading of 0.96. The dimensions of access to food to get food consist of the status of the area of residence, the status of the head of the household in the formal sector, the age of the head of the household, and the dominant variable of the education of the head of the household with a loading factor of 0.64. The dimensions of food use include the number of household members experiencing health complaints as the dominant variable with a loading factor value of 0.89 and the number of household members who have been outpatient in the last month.

The results of this study indicate that exports have a positive and significant effect in the short term and have a positive but not significant effect. Imports have a negative and significant effect in the short term, and have a negative and significant effect in the long term. then interest rates do not have a significant effect in the short term or long term. foreign debt has a positive and significant effect in the short term, but does not have a negative and insignificant effect in the long term.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between Indonesia's external Debt (ULN), gross domestic product (GDP), and exchange rate (ER) using quarterly data from 2011Q1 to 2025Q2. The Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) method tests long-run cointegration, followed by an Error Correction Model (ECM) to capture short-run dynamics. The selected ARDL (1, 0, 2) model confirms a long-term relationship among external Debt, GDP, and the exchange rate. In the short run, the exchange rate has a significant impact, while GDP does not. The negative and considerable error correction term (ECT) indicates the presence of an adjustment mechanism toward equilibrium. Impulse response analysis reveals that external debt responds strongly to exchange rate shocks, and variance decomposition identifies exchange rate fluctuations as the primary contributor to debt variation. Policy recommendations include diversifying foreign debt portfolios, strengthening foreign exchange reserves, and enhancing fiscal–monetary coordination to mitigate exchange rate risks and improve long-term debt management.
