Abstract

This research is a development research to produce E-Modules of Vibration and Wave Materials based on Local Wisdom which aims to determine 1) The validity of E-Modules of vibration and wave materials based on local wisdom to increase students' interest in learning and learning outcomes. 2) Practicality of E-Modules on vibration and wave material based on local wisdom to increase students' in learning and learning outcomes. 3) The effectiveness of E-Modules on vibration and wave materials based on local wisdom to increase students' interest in learning and learning outcomes. This research uses the ADDIE model. The results showed that 1) The validity of the local wisdom-based E-Module to increase learning interest and learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMPN 10 Makassar averaged a total CV of 1 in the valid category. 2) The practicality of E-Modules based on local wisdom using educator responses is stated to be average 100%, the response of class VIII students is stated to be very practical on average 87%. 3) The effectiveness of E-Modules based on local wisdom to increase learning interest with N-Gain shows 0.40 in the medium category and student learning outcomes with N-Gain shows 0.57 in the medium category

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of misconceptions among students on dynamic electricity using a four-tier diagnostic test based on the certainty of response index (CRI). This study is a survey with a descriptive research design. The population consisted of 839 students from 2 public junior high schools in Mamajang District, Makassar with  270 students as sample. The research instrument used was a four-tier diagnostic test consisting of 10 questions that had been validated. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that there were 10 misconceptions held by students, misconceptions occurred in all concepts in the dynamic electricity. The percentage and level of student misconceptions in the concepts related to electric current at 10.37% (low), electrical circuits at 25.93% (low), Ohm's law at 20.19% (low), Kirchoff's law at 10.00% (low), parallel circuits at 23.70% (low), mixed circuits at 17.04% (low), series circuits at 19.07% (low), and electrical power at 18.15% (low). Although the level of miscopception is categorized as low, it still has to be an evaluation

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) The level of students’ science process skills before and after being taught using PhET simulation media. 2) The improvement of students’ science process skills who were taught using PhET simulation media. 3) Whether there was an effect of the PhET simulation media on the students’ science process skills. This study is classified as a Quasi Experimental study using a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study included all VIII grade students at SMPN 18 Makassar. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling. Data were collected through pretests and posttests and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The analysis results show: 1) The average science process skills of students before learning using the PhET simulation media was 24.52, which falls into the low category, while after learning it increased to 69.84, which falls into the high category. 2) There was an increase in science process skills after using the PhET simulation media, with an N-Gain value of 0.59 which falls into the medium category. 3) There was an effect of PhET simulation media on the science process skills of students in class VIII SMPN 18 Makassar.
