Menstrual hygiene is one of the important aspects in maintaining the reproductive health of adolescent girls. Good knowledge and attitudes regarding menstrual hygiene are influenced by various factors, among them parental involvement and the use of social media. This study aims to analyze the influence of parental involvement and the use of social media on the knowledge and attitudes of female students about menstrual hygiene at SMAN 8 Enrekang. The study used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The study population was all female students of class X and XI who had experienced menstruation totaling 65 people, using total sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed univariately and bivariately using the Chi-Square test at a significance level of 95% (α = 0.05). The results showed that most respondents were aged 15–16 years (58.5%), experienced menarche at the age of 14 years (33.8%), and used TikTok as the main source of menstruation information (81.5%). Bivariate analysis showed that parental involvement did not significantly influence female students' knowledge about menstrual hygiene (p = 0.065), while the use of social media significantly influenced knowledge (p = 0.021). Conversely, parental involvement significantly influenced female students' attitudes about menstrual hygiene (p = 0.006), while the use of social media did not significantly influence attitudes (p = 0.193). These findings indicate that social media plays a greater role in increasing adolescents' knowledge regarding menstrual hygiene, whereas parental involvement plays a greater role in shaping positive attitudes towards menstrual hygiene practices. Therefore, synergy is needed between family, school, and digital media to improve the reproductive health of adolescent girls.
