Abstract

The community service activity entitled Social Media Ethics and Digital Footprint Education was conducted at PGRI 2 Patrang Junior High School, Jember Regency, to enhance students’ digital literacy and ethical awareness. This program addressed the increasing social media use among adolescents without sufficient understanding of digital ethics and responsibility. The activity employed a two-day seminar and interactive training approach, covering topics such as social media ethics, data privacy, and digital footprint management. The results indicated an improvement in students’ understanding from 58% to 87% based on pre-test and post-test scores. Participants demonstrated high enthusiasm and positive feedback. The program effectively fostered digital ethical awareness, critical thinking about online information, and responsible social media behavior. It is expected to serve as a sustainable educational model for schools to develop digital character among young learners

Abstract

Teaching volcanology in vocational high schools often faces challenges, particularly in explaining abstract concepts and dynamic natural processes. Limited availability of interactive and visual learning media results in suboptimal student understanding of volcanology topics. This community service activity aimed to improve students’ understanding and learning quality through the socialization of Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning media for Phase E volcanology at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Tegaldlimo, Banyuwangi. The activity employed a participatory approach consisting of preparation, AR media development, teacher training, student socialization and mentoring, as well as evaluation and monitoring stages. Evaluation was conducted by measuring students’ understanding through pre-test and post-test, observing student engagement and learning motivation, and assessing teachers’ ability to integrate AR into classroom instruction. The results indicated a significant improvement in students’ understanding of volcanology concepts after using AR-based learning media. Student engagement and learning motivation also increased, as reflected in higher participation and enthusiasm during learning activities. Furthermore, the training program enhanced teachers’ competence and confidence in integrating AR technology into teaching practices. These findings demonstrate that Augmented Reality is an effective tool for supporting interactive, contextual, and innovative science learning in vocational education

Abstract

Penerapan keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja (K3) di laboratorium menjadi aspek penting dalam menjamin keamanan praktikan maupun dosen pembimbing. Berdasarkan observasi di Laboratorium Manufaktur Fakultas Teknik Program Studi Teknik Industri Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember, ditemukan berbagai pelanggaran terhadap prinsip K3. Pelanggaran tersebut meliputi pengabaian penggunaan Alat Pelindung Diri (APD) seperti sarung tangan, masker, dan kacamata kerja, tidak adanya Standar Operasional Prosedur (SOP), minimnya fasilitas pendukung seperti ventilasi udara, serta kurangnya pemahaman akan pentingnya K3. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi penerapan K3 dengan pendekatan metode kualitatif menggunakan siklus PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan K3 belum optimal. Tidak terdapat struktur organisasi khusus yang menangani K3, belum pernah dilakukan sosialisasi, monitoring, maupun evaluasi terkait K3, dan sarana laboratorium masih belum memadai. Siklus PDCA diimplementasikan untuk mengidentifikasi celah-celah tersebut dan memberikan usulan perbaikan secara sistematis. Diperlukan upaya perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pemeriksaan, dan tindakan korektif secara berkelanjutan agar penerapan K3 berjalan efektif dan risiko kecelakaan kerja dapat diminimalkan.
