Abstract

This study investigates the influence of parental support and a growth mindset on career maturity among early-adult women in Indonesia. Previous research has rarely examined the simultaneous contributions of internal and external factors to career maturity in this demographic group. Using a quantitative correlational design, 385 women aged 18–25 years participated through purposive sampling. Instruments included the Career Maturity Inventory–Revised (CMI-R), the Career-Related Parent Support Scale, and the Growth Mindset Scale. Data were analyzed using linear regression bootstrap. Results indicated that parental support (β = 0.439, p < 0.001) and growth mindset (β = 0.315, p < 0.001) significantly predicted career maturity, explaining 29.19% of the variance (R² = 0.445). These findings highlight the role of family support and cognitive beliefs in shaping women's career readiness. Practical implications include the need for career counselors and parents to create supportive environments that foster career exploration and decision-making. Limitations include reliance on self-report measures and a non-random sample. Future studies are recommended to use longitudinal designs and include broader demographic groups. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of caregivers in supporting adolescent development, particularly in reducing feelings of inferiority at Husnul Khotimah Orphanage in Bandar Lampung. The research employed a qualitative approach using interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that caregivers play a central role by providing emotional, motivational, instructional, and instrumental support. This support is manifested through open and empathetic communication, academic guidance, positive reinforcement, and encouragement of adolescents’ participation in social and educational activities. The caregivers’ role helps adolescents feel safe, valued, and accepted, which contributes to increased self-confidence, self-regard, and social and academic abilities. However, caregivers face several challenges, including limited time, insufficient number of caregivers, differences in adolescents’ characteristics, and limited institutional facilities.

Abstract

Student activists play an important role in Indonesia’s democratic system as agents of change and social control. This study examines the role of student activists in Indonesia’s political dynamics through the perspective of political efficacy theory proposed by Stephen C. Craig, Richard G. Niemi, and Glenn E. Silver, which consists of internal political efficacy and external political efficacy. The research aims to understand how student organizations influence students’ political confidence, political participation, and social awareness in contemporary Indonesian politics. This study used a qualitative descriptive method with a purposive sampling technique. The subjects were university students actively involved in student organizations such as BEM, PMII, and other campus organizations. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that student organizations significantly improve students’ self-confidence, public speaking skills, political understanding, communication abilities, and social awareness. Student activists also believe that student movements and organizational activities remain effective in conveying aspirations and influencing campus and public policies. However, student activists currently face challenges such as political pragmatism, social media polarization, misinformation, and external political interests that may affect the independence of student movements. In conclusion, student organizations contribute greatly to strengthening political efficacy, political participation, and democratic values among students in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of intimate friendship in supporting emotional well-being and self-esteem of late adolescents from broken homes. Adolescents from broken homes tend to experience emotional stress and obstacles in expressing themselves, caused by minimal support and communication from their parents. This situation encourages them to seek other sources of support outside the family, especially through the presence of close friends who can provide space to tell stories and become a source of emotional reinforcement. This study uses a qualitative approach using the phenomenological method, this study involved in-depth interviews with three adolescents from disharmonious family backgrounds. The results show that intimate friendship plays an important role in building self-esteem, reducing loneliness, improving emotional management, and strengthening self-acceptance. Emotional support from close friends also helps deal with psychological stress due to family conflict. Key factors such as trust, loyalty, and social support are key to the success of this relationship. These findings emphasize the importance of strong social relationships as a strategy to deal with emotional challenges and provide direction for psychological interventions that focus on strengthening interpersonal relationships.
