Abstract

Health promotion media is a communication tool designed to accelerate education towards sustainable development (SDGs) in the health sector. Digital learning is an option to reduce limitations in the learning process. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of knowledge of health promotion media before and after digital learning. The research method is a pre-experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest design without control. The number of samples was 38 Level I students in the odd semester of the 2026/2027 academic year, obtained by purposive sampling. The data collection method used a critical knowledge instrument in the form of a questionnaire. The results of the normality test showed that the data were not normally distributed, with a Wilcoxon pairwise correlation test p-value <0.05, meaning there was a difference in the average ability of participants in knowledge of health promotion media before and after digital learning. The average grouping of student knowledge based on the N-Gain value ≥0.30, namely 0.33 - 1.00, concluded that students' abilities in knowledge of health promotion media after effective digital learning improved better (medium category). This is because digital learning is a supporting factor in the health education movement.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is the second leading cause of death among women in Indonesia. This health issue is actually preventable through HPV vaccination, which can be administered to 5th-grade elementary school children. Several factors influence parents' decisions not to allow their children to receive the first dose of the HPV vaccine. The aim of this study was to analyze the determinants associated with the first dose of HPV vaccination among elementary school children. This study employed a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 281 mothers of 5th-grade elementary school children. Data were collected at elementary schools in Sigli City by distributing questionnaires from December 20–28, 2023. Quantitative data were analyzed using multiple logistic regression at a significance level of α=0.05 and a 95% confidence interval. The results showed that 258 children (91.81%) did not receive the HPV vaccine. Factors associated with the first dose of HPV vaccination among elementary school children were knowledge (OR=6.46; 95% CI=1.87–22.2), attitude (OR=2.74; 95% CI=1.04–7.18), concern (OR=3.31; 95% CI=1.09–10.00), and lack of utilization of information sources (OR=3.30; 95% CI=1.00–10.83). Factors not associated with the first dose of HPV vaccination included perception (OR=1.20; 95% CI=0.50–2.84), school support (OR=1.44; 95% CI=0.54–3.78), cultural beliefs (OR=1.12; 95% CI=0.47–2.63), and non-electronic media sources (OR=1.46; 95% CI=0.46–4.65). The most dominant factor associated with the first dose of HPV vaccination was poor knowledge (AOR=11.95; 95% CI=1.90–72.47).

Abstract

Psychopathology is a mental disorder that can occur in police officers. Many factors influence psychopathology, one of which is obesity. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between body mass index and 10 psychopathology scales in police officers. Analytical research with a cross-sectional approach was conducted by analyzing secondary data from the Aceh Police Periodic Health Examination. A total of 709 police officers with records of physical examination results and mental health examinations using the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI)-2 questionnaire participated in this study. Multivariate analysis used multiple logistic regression tests with a 95% confidence level. The results showed that respondents who were underweight or overweight were 52.33%. Statistically, body mass index was associated with depression (OR=2.57; 95%CI=1.22–5.40; p=0.012), psychopathic deviation (OR=1.43; 95%CI=1.03–1.99; p=0.030), paranoia (OR=1.72; 95%CI=1.05–2.81; p=0.029), psychasthenia/nerosa (OR=2.31; 95%CI=1.24–4.30; p=0.008) and schizophrenia (OR=2.13; 95%CI=1.32–3.43; p=0.002).

Abstract

Background: Introduction: Treatment-seeking patterns for schizophrenia patients in developing countries often involve indirect access to formal health services. Traditional and spiritual healing remain common initial pathways, particularly in strong cultural and religious contexts. Purpose: To describe treatment-seeking patterns and analyze factors associated with the use of traditional medicine as first aid in male patients with schizophrenia. Method: This quantitative, cross-sectional study was conducted from August to December 2025 at the Aceh Provincial Mental Hospital. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, with a sample size of 155 respondents. The independent variables in this study were age, age of psychosis onset, education level, employment status, marital status, residence, distance to mental health services, internalized stigma as measured using the Internalized Stigma of Mental Illness Scale (ISMI-10), social support as measured using the Multidimensional Social Support Scale (MSPSS), and symptom severity as assessed using the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale – Joy Component (PANSS-EC). The dependent variable was the use of traditional medicine. Bivariate analysis used the Chi-square test, Fisher's exact test, independent t-test, or Mann–Whitney U test. Results: A total of 57.4% of respondents used traditional medicine as first aid before accessing formal health services. Bivariate analysis showed no significant association between the use of traditional medicine and age (p=0.389), age of onset (p=0.997), education level (p=0.680), marital status (p=0.500), employment status (p=0.784), or domicile (p=0.333). Multivariate analysis also showed no factors significantly associated with the use of traditional medicine. Conclusion: Traditional medicine remains the dominant initial pathway for seeking help among male patients with schizophrenia in Aceh. Demographic factors were not significantly associated with the choice of treatment pathway.   Keywords: First Aid; Male Patients; Schizophrenia; Treatment Seeking Patterns; Traditional Medicine.
