Abstract

This research investigates the application of fuzzy logic with the Mamdani method to regulate room temperature using an air conditioner (AC) in a boarding house environment with a partition at Bogor City, Indonesia. By considering variables such as room size, external temperature (weather), and air conditioner specifications, this research aims to achieve a balance between occupant comfort and energy efficiency. The optimal temperature for each room in the boarding house will be determined through fuzzy logic calculations. This research aims to open up new potentials in intelligent and sustainable temperature regulation in a boarding house or similar environment. This research method uses fuzzy logic for room temperature control using Matlab software.

Abstract

This research focuses on the imbalance between supply and demand in the tapioca industry, especially on the scale of Small and Medium Industries (SMI). Such challenges involve price fluctuations and lack of efficiency in determining the optimal production amount. Using fuzzy logic as an artificial intelligence method, this research aims to develop a system for predicting the optimal amount of tapioca production that can increase efficiency, reduce waste of raw materials and energy, and stabilize prices. The data used in this study was obtained through interviews with resource persons who are involved in the field of tapioca SMI. Furthermore, the data was processed using the Mamdani Fuzzy Inference System method. The results showed that in the case of production when demand is 400 kg and cassava availability is 2000 kg, the optimal production amount of tapioca is 630 kg. This value is also consistent when proven using the Matlab R2015a application. This shows that the model can be relied upon in determining the decision on the amount of tapioca production by considering demand factors and raw material availability.

Abstract

This study aims to implement fuzzy logic in determining the doneness level of beef steak based on the inputs of roasting time and roasting temperature. The output of the developed system is in the form of maturity levels in the categories of "rare", "medium rare", "medium", "medium well", and "well done". Data for this study were obtained through interviews with experienced beef steak sellers. This research method includes direct calculations as well as the use of MATLAB software to develop fuzzy logic systems. The results of the interview analysis are used as a basis for the formation of fuzzy rules for determining the degree of doneness of steaks. The results showed that in the example case with a roasting temperature of 300°C and a roasting time of 10 minutes, the resulting output value was 70, which placed the doneness of the steak in the "medium well" position. These results have been verified both through direct calculations and the use of MATLAB software. The study concluded that the implementation of fuzzy logic can help in determining the doneness level of beef steak, based on temperature variations and roasting time.

Abstract

In Indonesia, where the agricultural sector is pivotal in the economy and most of the population are farmers, effective soil moisture control is crucial for optimizing crop production. This study investigates the application of modern technology, particularly Arduino microcontrollers utilizing Fuzzy Logic, to enhance irrigation management in rice fields. Given the challenges of irregular water supply due to geographical and temporal variations, additional infrastructure such as waterways, dams, and pumps are indispensable for regulating water distribution. By integrating Arduino microcontroller technology with Fuzzy Logic, precise and adaptive soil moisture management can be achieved, ensuring optimal water usage and improving crop yields. This research contributes to advancing sustainable agriculture in Indonesia, addressing the pressing need for food security amidst a growing population.

Abstract

This research aims to optimize cassava production using fuzzy logic to enhance efficiency and productivity. Cassava is an important agricultural crop in Indonesia with great potential due to its ability to thrive in various types of soil and climates. Despite being considered a secondary food, cassava has numerous health benefits and serves as a good source of energy. However, crop failures and low yields hinder cassava production. Farmers can achieve optimal yields by maximizing output with minimal input costs. In addition to meeting market demand, pricing strategies are also crucial in determining the best products. Therefore, manufacturing companies need to plan the quantity of products to meet the expected demand. Factors such as product supply and demand need to be considered. It is challenging to monitor production elements when manual calculations are used. Hence, a method to accurately predict product availability is needed. The method used is fuzzy logic computation. We employ the Mamdani fuzzy logic method in this study. The outcome of this research is the ability to enhance cassava production yields based on Mamdani fuzzy logic calculations. The computations conducted enable farmers to determine production levels based on consumer demand.

Abstract

Bakery is one of the dessert-making places that is popular with various circles. Good product quality is greatly influenced by the right roasting process. Temperature and proofing time are important factors for bakery products themselves. This research aims to analyze the effect of temperature and proofing time on bakery products using fuzzy implementation methods. The fuzzy method is a soft computing technique that mimics human decision-making processes to solve complex and uncertain problems. In this study, the fuzzy system was designed to control the oven temperature and the proofing time of bakery products. The fuzzy system has two inputs, namely temperature and proofing time, and one output, which is the bread development rate. The fuzzy rule is designed to determine the degree of bread proofing based on a combination of temperature values and proofing time. The results of the study with a case study of a baking temperature of 185°C and a proofing time of 115 minutes showed the level of bakery development with medium results. Calculations are done using manual method and Matlab application. The manual calculation yields a result of 6, which falls within the medium fuzzy rule, consistent with the data processing results in the MATLAB application.

Abstract

Salted eggs are a typical Indonesian food whose processing process is through dry or wet salting. The process of processing salted eggs aims to increase added value and extend the shelf life of duck eggs. This study was conducted to analyze the quality of salted eggs in the practicum of IPB Food Quality Assurance students, based on organoleptic tests with the most preferred flavor, texture, and over-ripening parameters. Assessment of the quality of salted eggs is done by organoleptic test by assessing the level of liking to 27 panelists. Because the 3 variables used are vague, so the variables and parameter determination are uncertain. Due to the uncertainty of the variables and parameters used, fuzzy logic is used with the Mamdani method to help make decisions. The results showed in the sample that salted eggs made with rubbed ash and salt ratio (2: 1) had good quality with a quantitative value of 7.5. Salted eggs with good quality, means that salted egg samples are acceptable to panelists.

Abstract

This research focuses on the effect of oven temperature and roasting time on cookie products, especially Nastar, produced for specific events. The right temperature and roasting time will affect the quality and characteristics of Nastar that consumers will accept. A tool called fuzzy logic selects Nastar's optimal temperature and baking time. Fuzzy logic is a mathematical method that uses computer intelligence to determine Nastar's temperature and baking time. The data used in this research was obtained from previous research and then analyzed using the fuzzy logic method. The temperature variables used in this research are Low temperature (80, 100, 1200C), Medium temperature (110, 130, 1500C), and High temperature ( 140, 160, 1800C) and the roasting time variables are Short time (0, 0, 5, 10 minutes) and Longtime (10, 15, 20, 20 minutes). This research shows that the optimal temperature for Nastar is 1150C with a baking time of 18 minutes. This result is based on calculations carried out using the Matlab application.
