Abstract

Islamic education in Vietnam exists in an informal and community-based system, primarily sustained by the Cham Muslim minority. Despite the absence of a formal educational infrastructure, this system plays a vital role in preserving religious identity and transmitting moral values. This study aims to analyze the current condition of Islamic education in Vietnam, identify existing challenges, and explore development opportunities that support sustainability and cultural relevance. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, using literature reviews and document analysis to explore educational practices, institutional gaps, and policy dynamics that shape the Islamic education landscape in Vietnam. The findings show that Islamic education in Vietnam is adaptive and resilient but suffers from limitations in curriculum standardization, educator training, and formal recognition. However, digital technology, international partnerships, and emerging government support provide promising opportunities for its development. A multi-stakeholder and culturally grounded approach is needed to strengthen Islamic education in minority contexts. This study provides practical insights for policymakers and educators in designing inclusive and sustainable educational strategies for Muslim communities in non-Muslim-majority countries

Abstract

Early childhood education (ECE) in Vietnam has experienced substantial reforms over the past decades, shifting from traditional teacher-centered practices to competency-based, child-centered approaches designed to promote holistic development. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of Vietnam’s early childhood curriculum from the perspectives of teachers and parents. Using a systematic literature review approach, empirical and theoretical studies published between 2010 and 2025. The findings reveal significant gaps between policy intentions and practical realities. Teachers reported limited resources, insufficient professional training, and cultural constraints rooted in Confucian traditions, while parental involvement remained low due to limited awareness and diverse family dynamics. At the systemic level, disparities in infrastructure, funding, and policy coherence continue to hinder equitable curriculum implementation across regions. These findings emphasize the need for enhanced teacher capacity-building, culturally responsive school–parent partnerships, and context-sensitive policy strategies to improve curriculum fidelity and educational quality

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi digital telah merevolusi dunia pendidikan, termasuk dalam proses pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) yang kini menuntut inovasi agar tetap relevan dengan dinamika zaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemanfaatan teknologi digital dalam pengembangan desain pembelajaran PAI dengan menyoroti manfaat, tantangan, dan strategi implementatifnya di era abad ke-21. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif melalui studi pustaka, yang mencakup telaah terhadap buku, artikel jurnal, dan hasil penelitian terdahulu yang relevan dengan integrasi teknologi dalam pendidikan Islam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan media digital seperti video interaktif, aplikasi pembelajaran daring, dan platform e-learning tidak hanya meningkatkan motivasi dan partisipasi siswa, tetapi juga memperkuat penguasaan nilai-nilai spiritual melalui pendekatan kontekstual dan kolaboratif. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa literasi digital dan kompetensi pedagogis guru menjadi kunci keberhasilan dalam merancang pembelajaran PAI yang inovatif, adaptif, dan tetap berlandaskan nilai-nilai Islam di tengah transformasi teknologi global
