Abstract

Coping efforts during pregnancy are significant in influencing better pregnancy and birth outcomes. This study aimed to prove the influence of smart mother classes (SMC) on stress, childbirth self-efficacy (CBSE), and birth outcomes. This research used an experimental design, pre and post-test control group design. The population was all pregnant women at 28-35 weeks of pregnancy in Semarang City, Indonesia. The sample was chosen by cluster random sampling, where 35 health centers in 12 regions were randomized as six regions (n=60) as intervention group (antenatal class and coping skill as smart mother classes) while the other six regions (n=60) as the control group (antenatal class only). Each region runs one class with 10 pregnant women. The groups were treated four times in four weeks. The measurement was before the treatment, fourth week, and at birth. This study used repeated-measures ANOVA. The results showed that the SMC was influenced significantly in reducing stress (p=0.012), and increasing CBSE but not statistically significant (p>0.05). The SMC also had a significant impact on the outcomes of birth (p<0.05), except the time of the first stage of labor (p>0.05). The study suggested a need for the provision of continuity and holistic midwifery care.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The 2017 Indonesian Health Profile shows the number of posyandu in Indonesia has 164,867 (56.57%) active posyandu. However, the quantity of posyandu is not in line with the quality of utilization of the posyandu. In 2017 there were only 89,070 (82.6%) toddlers weighed in posyandu from 107,846 toddlers who were there. This amount is far from the target of visiting toddlers in Central Java Province, which is equal to 90%. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the activity of mothers of children under five to posyandu, including factors of education, employment, age and knowledge of children under five at the posyandu.             This research was carried out at the Posyandu in the Pandean Lamper Sub-District of Semarang City in March 2019. This type of research was analytic observational with a cross sectional design. The study population was mothers of children under five (1-5 years). Sampling using proportionate stratified random sampling.             The relationship of education and activity of mothers of children under five has a moderate correlation with a value of 0.580 and the relationship between knowledge and activity of mothers of children under five has a strong correlation with a value of 0.675. In the future, it is expected that mothers of toddlers always maintain the activity of posyandu and cadres always provide motivation to mothers to attend the posyandu activities.             Conclusion: the longer the mother under five takes the level of education and the higher the knowledge of the mother under five, the higher the activity of the mother of the toddler to the posyandu.

Abstract

Anemia is a significant public health problem with a prevalence of about 2 billion around the world.  Consuming the iron (Fe) tablets or foods containing iron were strategies for preventing iron deficiency. Vitamin C or ascorbic acid can increase iron absorption 4-fold, and an amount of 200 mg will increase iron absorption by at least 30%. Guava (Psidium Guajava) and papaya (Carica Papaya Linn) are examples of fruits that contain lots of ascorbic acids. The study aimed to investigate red guava juice and papaya juice on hemoglobin levels in pregnant women. This study applied the pre-experimental research with two groups, pre-test and post-test, without the control group. Thirty pregnant women were divided into two groups, such as group 1 received the Guava (n=15), and group 2 received the papaya (n=15). A paired T-test was used to test the mean value of pre-test and post-test within the group. An Independent t-test was done to determine the difference between groups. This study showed an increase in hemoglobin after two weeks of guava juice and papaya juice supplementation. However, the Independent t-test showed no significant difference between the two groups with a value of 0.617 (p >0.05). Both supplementations of 200 ml/day red guava juice and papaya juice with iron tablets for 14 weeks are equally effective in increasing hemoglobin levels in second and third-trimester pregnant women

The study showed the results of the measurement of the circumference of the upper arm before training (pre test) with after administration (post test) after being involved using paired t-test obtained p value (0.001) α (0.05). Means there is a significant difference between the circumference of the upper arm before the treatment round. From the research that is expected from health workers need to educate pregnant women for nutritious food, so pregnant women do not need Chronic Energy Deficiency. Abstract

Indonesia's humid and hot climate makes the body sweat excessively so that the pH of the vagina increases and facilitates the growth of bacteria in the vagina. So it takes enough knowledge for students to be able to care for the vagina to avoid reproductive health problems. Health information on vulva hygiene in boarding schools is very rare.  Improving students' knowledge can be done by providing health education using educational game media. The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of health education with card game media on the level of knowledge of vulva hygiene in students. This research was conducted at Askhabul Kahfi Islamic Boarding School from March until May 2021. This research included a pre-experimental design using one group pretest and posttest. The sample in this research was a grade IX junior high school student aged 14-16 years old (57 students). Sampling techniques used purposive sampling technique and data analysis used Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results of the research that the average score of knowledge of the students before and after giving health education using card game media is 60.61 and 81.58. There was an average increase of before and after giving health education  20.97. The results of this research indicated that there was an influence between health education about vulva hygiene and card games on the knowledge level of students at the Askhabul Kahfi Islamic Boarding School with the Asymp.Sig value of 0.000 0.05. The benefit of this research for students of Askhabul Kahfi Islamic Boarding School will understand the material, will not underestimate the importance of vulva hygiene, and will do proper vulva hygiene after getting health education given by the researcher through card games.

Abstract

The implementation of exclusive breastfeeding for infants from 0 to 6 months old has been recommended by WHO since 2002, but the implementation of exclusive breastfeeding is still relatively low. According to Indonesian health data, the  exclusive breastfeeding rate in Central Java province is only 67.4%,  still lower than the national target of 71.58%  This is a reference for regional authorities, especially health workers in Central Java, to evaluate and develop strategic plans to promote exclusive breastfeeding. One solution to increasing breast milk production is to react. Re-breastfeeding is an attempt to breastfeed again after a long period of cessation of breastfeeding. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between mothers' knowledge and husbands' support on attitudes toward breastfeeding. This study was performed in the working area of the Lerep Medical Center using a horizontal method. The study population included mothers who did not exclusively breastfeed their infants and whose infants were 0 to 6 months old. The sampling technique was to sample a total  of 71 respondents. Research results  using the chi-square test show that there is an association between the mother's knowledge and her husband's support with rebirth attitudes with p-value = 0.001.
