Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji sejarah perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan di dunia Barat dan dunia Islam dari periode abad kuno, pertengahan, modern, hingga kontemporer. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif berbasis studi literatur, penelitian ini menelaah secara kronologis dan tematis dinamika evolusi ilmu pengetahuan yang dipengaruhi oleh faktor sosial, budaya, politik, serta kontribusi tokoh intelektual utama pada setiap periodenya. . Fokus utama penelitian adalah menganalisis pola perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan kontribusi para tokoh intelektual dalam konteks sosial, budaya, dan politik pada masing-masing periode. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan merupakan proses dinamis yang dipengaruhi oleh akulturasi budaya dan interaksi intelektual antar peradaban, khususnya antara Barat dan Islam. Dunia Islam memainkan peranan penting dalam menjaga dan mengembangkan ilmu pengetahuan klasik yang kemudian memengaruhi kemajuan ilmu di Barat, terutama pada masa pertengahan dan modern. Selain itu, transformasi keilmuan pada abad modern dan kontemporer menunjukkan kemajuan teknologi dan metodologi yang signifikan, termasuk digitalisasi dan kolaborasi internasional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman mendalam mengenai kontribusi kedua peradaban bagi perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan global.

Abstract

Muhammadiyah is an organization founded by KH. Ahmad Dahlan is a charitable business movement which to date has made many contributions in the field of education, especially Islamic education. Education is the foundation for humans in determining the direction of life, for this reason the education carried out must integrate religious knowledge and general knowledge in a balanced manner, so that it is in accordance with religious principles. The aim of this research is to reveal the active role and influence of Muhammadiyah starting from the background of its founding to its influence in improving the quality of Islamic education. The research method used is a qualitative method through interviews and literature study using historical methods. The data collection in this paper is by analyzing and exploiting books, documents, the internet and other relevant sources. This research concludes that the presence of Muhammadiyah in Bombana Regency is an enlightening movement that invites the purification of Islam as well as to eradicate thoughts of backwardness, poverty and ignorance. This effort is realized through the implementation of holistic education that integrates or combines general knowledge and religious knowledge to create intelligent and moral individuals. Thus, Muhammadiyah is committed to providing education that is more modern and in line with current developments. Keywords: Muhammadiyah Organization, Islamic Quality Education

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of character education based on religious values at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Sunan Pandanaran (MISPA) Yogyakarta, where character formation is cultivated as a living school culture. Grounded in pesantren tradition, MISPA integrates religious practices such as DDAH (prayer, dhuha, and Asmaul Husna), daily Qur’an memorization, congregational prayers, and thematic initiatives including the Anti-Bullying Declaration as structured habituation strategies that shape students’ everyday behavior. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, encompassing data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings indicate that character education at MISPA is collaboratively planned, consistently implemented by teachers as role models, and continuously evaluated through behavioral observation and reflective practices. Character education emphasizes not only moral knowledge but also habitual action and the cultivation of religious awareness, aligning with the theoretical perspectives of Lickona, Bronfenbrenner, and Al-Ghazali. Despite challenges such as teachers’ workload, diverse levels of students’ awareness, and the influence of digital media, MISPA has successfully developed an educational ecosystem that fosters religiosity, discipline, and integrity
