Abstract

This study evaluates the impact of the Project-Based Learning (PBL) method on the learning motivation of Mathematics students at FMIPA Universitas Mataram. The primary objective is to assess the effectiveness of PBL in enhancing learning motivation and to explore the influencing factors, namely Facilities (X₁), Lecturer Role (X₂), and Skill Development (X₃). This research employs a quantitative descriptive method, with a population of 257 Mathematics students from FMIPA Universitas Mataram, covering the 2020–2023 cohorts. The sample is determined using the Stratified Random Sampling method. Data were collected through research instruments that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive analysis (pie charts, bar charts, histograms, and scatter plots) and multiple linear regression to identify the influence of the independent variables (X₁, X₂, X₃) on (Y). The findings indicate that 63.8% of the variation in learning motivation (Y) can be explained by Facilities (X₁), Lecturer Role (X₂), and Skill Development (X₃). Both simultaneous and partial tests confirm that all independent variables contribute significantly to students’ learning motivation. These results suggest that the PBL method is not only effective in enhancing learning motivation but also holds potential as an innovative teaching strategy in higher education.

Abstract

Tourism is an economic sector that significantly supports the country's foreign exchange, including in West Nusa Tenggara Province (NTB). Data on tourist visits to an area, including to NTB, is a representation of time series data. The wavelet method is one of the tools that is quite reliable for modeling time series data. This study aims to model the number of tourist visits to NTB Province using discrete wavelet transformation decomposition to estimate data. Several Wavelet functions such as Haar wavelet, Symlet, Coiflet, Daubechies, Best-localized Daubechies, Fejér-Korovkin, and Bi-orthogonal Splines at various orders and levels of decomposition became the basis for simulation in modeling data. Based on the Root of Mean of Square Error (RMSE) indicator, this study compares the performance of each wavelet function against the modeling performance at various orders and levels of decomposition. Numerically, for the data on the total number of tourists visiting NTB Province, the best approximation was given by the Fejér-Korovkin wavelet order 4-th (fk4) and the best-localized Daubechies wavelet order 7-th (bl7) at the 2-nd level with an RMSE value of 2.2993 × 10-11. Partially, the best approximation of the data on the number of foreign tourist visits was given by the Bi-orthogonal Splines wavelet type order 2.6 (bior2.6) at the 2nd decomposition level with an RMSE value of 1.1718 × 10-11 and for the data on domestic tourist visits was given by the Fejér-Korovkin wavelet type order 4-th (fk4) and the best-localized Daubechies wavelet order 7-th (bl7) at the 2nd level with an RMSE value of 1.3352 × 10-11.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengimpelementasikan modul pembelajaran olimpiade matematika bagi siswa SMPN 2 Kuripan. Kebutuhan akan modul ini didasarkan pada rendahnya akses siswa terhadap materi-materi persiapan olimpiade yang terstruktur dan sesuai dengan kemampuan serta kebutuhan mereka. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengembangan modul ini meliputi analisis kebutuhan, desain dan pengembangan modul, serta uji coba. Modul ini dirancang untuk mencakup berbagai topik matematika yang sering muncul dalam olimpiade, disertai dengan contoh soal dan pembahasan yang mendalam. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan modul olimpiade matematika ini dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi olimpiade, serta memotivasi mereka untuk lebih aktif dalam mengikuti kompetisi. Evaluasi melalui uji coba menunjukkan respon positif dari siswa, dengan peningkatan signifikan pada hasil latihan soal.

Abstract

QRIS merupakan program inovasi terbaru dari Bank Indonesia yang diluncurkan pada hari kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia ke-74 dengan tujuan mempermudah, mempercepat, dan memberi keamanan pada transaksi digital. Bank Indonesia gencar melakukan sosialisasi dalam memperkenalkan sistem ini, salah satunya melalui event-event yang diadakan pada daerah tertentu. Event yang diadakan oleh SMAN 1 Mataram menjadi kunci utama dalam mengenalkan generasi muda terhadap sistem pembayaran digital. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan memperhatikan keadaan lingkungan sekitar sembari menceritakan apa saja kegiatan yang dilakukan pada hari itu. Event yang diadakan bernama SKETSA Smansa yang diadakan di Lombok Vaganza Hotel bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi, meningkatkan minta anak muda, serta menekanan UMKM dalam menggunakan QRIS sebagai metode pembayaran digital yang aman, mudah, dan terintegrasi. Bank Indonesia mengisi talkshow yang diberikan oleh panitia guna meningkatkan kesadaran Masyarakat dalam perkembangan sistem pembayaran. Selain talkshow Bank Indonesia juga mengadakan pendekatan melalui penggunaan QRIS yang disebarkan pada saat acara berlangsung. Untuk menarik perhatian, Bank Indonesia memberikan voucher makanan setiap scan QRIS yang dilakukan. Banyak dari anak muda yang berpartisipasi pada sosialisasi ini dan mengaku bahwa penggunaan QRIS dapat mempercepat dan mempermudah transaksi jual beli. UMKM yang berjualan pada event tersebut juga turut berpartisipasi dalam penggunaan QRIS yang dapat dilihat pada setiap stand makanan, mereka menyediakan alat pembayaran tersebut.

Abstract

Mastery of mathematical problem-solving skills based on logical reasoning is an important aspect in supporting students’ success in facing the Computer-Based Written Examination (UTBK). However, many students still encounter difficulties in understanding concepts and effectively solving UTBK-type questions. To address this issue, a community service program was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Pujut with the aim of enhancing participants’ mathematical reasoning capacity. The activity began with an introduction to the Mathematics study program, followed by training sessions on strengthening concept mastery through logical reasoning and practice in solving UTBK questions, delivered by lecturers and students. The effectiveness of the training was evaluated through a comparison of participants’ pre-test and post-test results. This activity was attended by 30 students as training participants. The evaluation showed a significant improvement in post-test scores, with 83.33% of participants experiencing an increase in their scores, and the majority achieving above 60 in the post-test. These findings indicate that the applied training method was effective in improving students’ conceptual understanding of mathematics and their readiness to face the UTBK.
