Abstract

This research is based on the results of a preliminary study at state junior high school 38 Samarinda showing a lack of speaking etiquette, with indicators that students often speak dishonestly, use inappropriate language, speak harshly, speak in a rude tone, and give nicknames to friends. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of storytelling technique group guidance services to improve speaking ethics. The type of research used is quantitative experiment. The experimental design used in this research was one group pretest - posttest. The population of all classes VII state junior high school 38 Samarinda with a total of 134 students and a sample of 7 students were identified as having low speaking ethics. The sampling technique used is Non-Probability Sampling with Purposive Sampling technique. The research results showed that before being given treatment the average score was 54%, after being given treatment the average score was 91% and the average score increased by 59.46%. Based on the T-test results, it is known that Sig. (2-tailed) has a value of 0.000 < 0.05, so it can be concluded that Ha is accepted, which means that there is an increase in speaking ethics in class VII students after receiving treatment in the form of storytelling technique group guidance services. So it can be concluded that storytelling technique group guidance services can be used to improve speaking ethics in class VII students at state junior high school 38 Samarinda for the 2023/2024 academic year.

Abstract

Abstract This research is based on issues related to students' career planning. According to the results of a need assessment using AUM, 37.5% of students face problems regarding careers and employment, a relatively high percentage at SMA Tunas Kelapa Samarinda, indicating that students have not yet been able to effectively plan their careers. The study was conducted from August 19 to 30, 2024, with the aim of determining the effectiveness of the mind mapping technique in improving the career planning of 12th-grade students at SMA Tunas Kelapa Samarinda for the 2024/2025 academic year. This is an experimental study using a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The sample consisted of 6 students, selected using purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire. The data analysis technique employed in this study was parametric statistics, specifically the paired t-test. The results of the study showed an improvement in students' career planning, with an average pretest score of 117.8 and an average posttest score of 134. The t-test analysis produced a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.005, which is less than 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. In line with the research question, the results demonstrate that the mind mapping technique is effective in improving students' career planning. Thus, it can be concluded that this study aligns with the research question and the author's hypothesis. The conclusion of this study is that the career planning of 12th-grade students at SMA Tunas Kelapa Samarinda for the 2024/2025 academic year can be improved through group counseling services using the mind mapping technique.

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of classical guidance through cinematherapy techniques on students' self-confidence. This type of research is quantitative by using experimental research method with the research design used is pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest design type. The instrument used in this study was a self-confidence scale with a Likert model. The population in this study were all 8th grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Samarinda. The sample used was 30 students with a sampling technique in the form of purposive sampling. The data analysis technique used was parametric statistics paired t test. Classical guidance services cinematherapy technique was carried out as many as 4 meetings. The results showed that the tcount value was greater than the ttable value, so it could be concluded that Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. The pretest average score is 91.7 and the posttest average score is 113.5 so that classical guidance through cinematherapy techniques is effective for increasing student confidence. Classical guidance through cinematherapy technique can be one of the strategies to increase students' self-confidence.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the effectiveness of individual cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) counseling to increase self-confidence in class XI students at SMA Negeri 2 Bontang in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. This type of research is quantitative with a single-subject experimental design method using the A-B design type. This study only has 1 research subject where the subject was taken using purposive sampling with the characteristics of having problems often absent from school and low self-confidence. This study used a self-confidence scale data collection technique. Data analysis in this study used descriptive statistical techniques. The results of the data analysis of the implementation of individual CBT counseling services obtained an average score of 42.7 after being given treatment which showed high self-confidence, seen from the low overlapping percentage the subject got a result of 0% and changes in the direction of the trend showed an increase and the tendency of subject stability showed stable to the variable, it can be concluded that the implementation of individual counseling services is effective in increasing the self-confidence of class XI students at SMA Negeri 2 Bontang in the 2024/2025 Academic Year.
