Abstract

Criticism to the church in carrying out its mission is often raised. A number of churches are considered no longer world-oriented but only Heaven-oriented. In his book, Meng-hari-ini-kan Injil di Bumi Pancasila, Ebenhaizer I. Nuban Timo suggests that there are four erroneous paradigms about the mission. This paper is an attempt to assess whether these four erroneous paradigms also exist in the Batak Karo Protestant Church (GBKP) Namo Buah Silebo-Lebo (NBS), Deli Serdang district, North Sumatra. The purpose of this assessment, of course, is to get a real picture of the GBKP NBS. This research is qualitative research through literature study and interviews. A literature study was carried out by tracing a number of writings on the mission of the church and also a number of GBKP NBS documents. Meanwhile, the interviewees included: Former NBS Village Head, GBKP NBS church leader, a number of members and administrators of several GBKP NBS categories. As a result, the four mission paradigm errors concluded by Timo above were also found in the NBS GBKP. Abstract

Agriculture is considered a sector of work that does not humanize humans. This happens because the farmer profession does not provide results that are in accordance with the risks of the work done. In addition, the church as one of the organizations that lives in the context of agriculture still revolves around worship rituals. The Church has not responded well to the agricultural context. This has led to a decrease in congregation members' appreciation of God's presence in the context of agriculture. It also causes the work as a farmer not to be considered a gift from God, but a job that is not worth doing. This paper aims to see the views of Batak Karo Protestant Church (GBKP) Kuta Buluh congregation members regarding God, the farmer's church and work as a farmer. The results show that members of GBKP Kuta Buluh Church still feel God's presence in their lives as farmers. Members of GBKP Kuta Buluh congregation argue that life as a farmer is God's gift. However, there are also members of the GBKP Kuta Buluh congregation who consider that the farmer profession is an unworthy job. In addition, the church is considered to have not responded well to agricultural life, so the church has not had a positive impact on the lives of members of the congregation who live in the context of agriculture.

Abstract

The number of cases that occur is understood to be at a very concerning sexual level. This could be caused by a lack of understanding and knowledge about sexual thinking. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the level of knowledge and understanding of grade 10 students of SMA Kristen Kalam Kudus II about understanding sexuality to bring the issue of understanding sexuality to attention, help determine the next steps needed to increase student awareness of understanding sexuality and other sexual education, help achieve quality education in Indonesia, help reduce the number of cases of sexual enlightenment, and create a healthy and safe environment for the new generation. The research method used is a qualitative method using a semi-structured interview technique with 10 students randomly selected as respondents. Interview questions include basic understanding, identification of open sexual forms, and ways to prevent and report open incidents. Based on the results of the study, students of SMA Kristen Kalam Kudus II have a good level of knowledge about the definition and factors that cause sexual experiences, but understanding of the impacts and solutions still needs to be improved. Education on a more comprehensive understanding of sexuality and a safe and comfortable reporting system is needed to help students understand and deal with sexual problems better.

Abstract

Nowadays, Indonesia is experiencing a huge corruption phenomenon. This condition can be seen from various corruption cases that ensnare various circles in Indonesia. Corrupt perpetrators are not only workers who are squeezed by needs, but also economically well-established groups. Faced with this situation, it is important to find the root of the corruption problem that can raise public awareness. The public must be aware that corruption is very much eating away at the lives of the Indonesian people who are still trapped in poverty and enormous economic inequality. One of the thinkers who gave an overview of the phenomenon of corruption in Indonesia was Karl Marx. This paper aims to explore the relevance of Karl Marx's theory of alienation in analyzing the root causes of corruption in Indonesia. The research method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a literature study on Karl Marx's thoughts, especially Karl Marx's theory of Alienation. The results of this study show that the capitalist economic system that focuses on the pursuit of profit as much as possible contributes as much as possible as the cause of corruption in Indonesia. The capitalist economic system creates alienation from one's work and self. The power of money will give rise to greedy human character. In other words, Corruption based on Karl Marx's thought arose because of the capitalist economic system that was uncontrollable and created greedy human beings.

Abstract

This study explores social inequality within the church in the context of agricultural communities as a result of poverty, economic disparity, and corruption. Data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) indicates that most farmers in rural areas remain vulnerable and far from prosperous. The inequality is driven by limited land ownership, unstable commodity prices, and economic policies that disadvantage farmers. As part of society, the church is called to take an active role through the spirituality of simplicity (ugahari), community empowerment, and the management of economic resources such as credit unions. The study concludes that poverty alleviation is not only the responsibility of the government but also a moral obligation of the church to promote social justice and collective well-being.
