Abstract

Asphalt concrete is an even mixture of aggregate and asphalt as a binder. Before mixing, the two ingredients must be heated to dry the aggregate and get a sufficient liquid level of asphalt to make the mixture easy. Ceramic waste can be used as an alternative aggregate in asphalt concrete mixtures. They must be ground until they meet the standard fine aggregate grain diameter. The objective of this research is to evaluate that the fine aggregate samples studied are crushed ceramic waste; to evaluate ceramics used as fine aggregates in hot asphalt mixes that meet asphalt concrete quality standards; and to evaluate the properties of hot asphalt that uses ceramic waste as fine aggregates. I chose the title of this research because ceramic waste improves asphalt concrete's quality. The research uses the Marshall testing method, which is meant to determine the resistance (stability) to plastic melting (flow) of the asphalt and aggregate mixture. The asphalt concrete mixture uses a variety of ceramic waste fine aggregates of 100%, 75%, 50% and 25%. With  The 100% ceramic waste asphalt mix had the highest Marshall stability value, with an average of 1561.07 kg; the 25% ceramic waste asphalt mix had the lowest, with an average of 1548.31 kg.

Abstract

The use of Asbuton B50/30 in Asphalt Concrete-Wearing Course (laston) mixtures represents an intriguing innovation in road construction. This study aims to evaluate the impact of Asbuton B50/30 on the quality of laston mixtures, focusing on strength, cohesion, thermal stability, viscosity, and the potential for utilizing local resources. The experimental method includes a series of laboratory and field tests to examine various laston compositions with Asbuton B50/30. Results indicate that adding Asbuton B50/30 significantly improves structural strength and material stiffness, as well as cohesion between mix components and thermal stability. However, changes in asphalt viscosity and the implications for local material usage should also be considered, as they can affect costs and resource efficiency. These findings provide valuable insights for infrastructure development, particularly in considering Asbuton B50/30 as an alternative for Asphalt Concrete-Wearing Course mixtures. Utilizing Asbuton B50/30 has the potential not only to enhance road performance and durability but also to support sustainability by maximizing local resources, making it an appealing choice for the road construction industry in the future.

Abstract

Blackspots are locations on a road network that have a frequency of accidents or the number of traffic accidents per year that is greater than the specified minimum number of 30. With the effectiveness of efforts to handle accident-prone areas or Blackspots, it is hoped that accident cases will continue to decline from year to year and minimize the risk. Blackspots. The research was carried out on the Toboli - Poso section, Central Sulawesi Province, with the aim of determining the factors that cause Blackspots and how to alternatively handle Blackspots on this section. The research method used is a survey. The results obtained show that the causes of Blackspots are driver negligence in driving, vehicle factors, and the lack of adequate infrastructure on road sections that are prone to accidents, as well as road elements that are still not good and/complete. This triggers accidents that can result in fatalities such as serious injuries. Peak time for accidents often occurs at 12.00 - 18.00 WITA, the types of collisions are motor vehicles and pedestrians. Handling that can be carried out in Blackspot areas is by controlling traffic speeds, providing and/repairing road infrastructure and road elements in Blackspot areas, such as providing/adding zebra crossing traffic signs, traffic lights, noise tape, improving road shoulders, and others.

Abstract

According to ESDM, 215 ground motion events were reported during 2023. Landslides are natural phenomena that occur frequently and have a significant impact. Landslides also occur in road construction, such as the landslide on the Toboli - Kebun Kopi road section. There are two methods of dealing with landslides, namely preventive methods and curative methods. Preventive method is a method used to prevent landslides, while curative method is a method used to handle landslides that have occurred. On the Toboli - Kebun Kopi road section, landslides have occurred, therefore the countermeasure uses curative methods, one of which is a cantilever type retaining wall. The purpose of this research is to obtain the stability value of slope structure, and predict whether deformation occurs after countermeasures are taken. Based on the results of the analysis, the structural stability value is bolster: 2.850 > 2 (safe), shear: 2.268 > 1.5 (safe) and soil bearing capacity: 106 > 3 (safe). And the stability of slope after being given countermeasures using the finite element method with help of the plaxis program on saturated slopes: 1.60 and unsaturated slopes: 1.90. After given countermeasures deformation occurs on saturated slopes by 3.59 cm and unsaturated by 3.42 cm.

Abstract

Asphall concrate wearing course (AC-WC) is the topmost pavement layer which functions as a wear layer. Filler function is very important to modify the gradation offine agregate in the asphall mixture so that the density increases. Asphall concrate layer (laston) is a cover layer consisting of a densely graded agregate mixture with struktural properties. The purpuse of this study was to determine the effect and variation of immersiontime on the properties and characteristics of asphal with bamboo leaf ash as part of the added material, namely 10%, 15%, and 20% with variations of immersion, 3 days, 7 days and 14 days. The number of samples of test objects made were 48 samples, with 15 normal sampels of test comparison, 27 samples of variations, 6 samples of remaining KAO. The manufacture of test specimens hot mixed and refersto the 2018test apparatus with a temperature of 60ºC and is continuedout with the marshall test to obtain stability and flow values. Based on research results and data analysis of AC-WC asphalt mixtures with the addition of 10%, 15%, 20% bamboo leaf ash, with soaking variations of 3 days, 7 days, 14 days. From the laboratory results, the addition of 20% bamboo leaf ash can increase the density, FLOW and VFB values, while a decrease occurs in the stability of VMA, MQ and VIM, but not too drastically because it is still in the specification stage

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the properties and characteristics of the warm mixture of emulsified asphalt and to analyze the effectiveness of the characteristics of the warm mixture of emulsified asphalt with variations of immersion. The independent variable in this study is the immersion variation. The test method refers to the General Specifications of Highways 2018. The type of mixture used is Asphalt Concrete - Wearing Coarse. The performance was measured by testing Density, Stability, Flow, Marshall Quontient, voids in mixture (VIM), voids filled with asphalt (VFB), and voids in aggregate (VMA). The asphalt content used was 6.5%, then repeated immersion was carried out with variations of 3 days, 7 days, and 14 days of immersion. The results showed that the use of a warm mixture of emulsified asphalt and the length of immersion time affected the decrease in the value of the asphalt mixture properties. This is because the longer the immersion the asphalt adhesion to the mixture will decrease and the chance of losing the durability or durability of the mixture is also getting bigger. And from the results of the Marshall test using a warm mixture of asphalt emulsion, the best value for the characteristics is 3 days of immersion. Because it has a higher stability value so it will be able to withstand a greater load

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries that have natural wealth on Buton Island, commonly known as Buton Asphalt. One of the products is Cold Paving Hot Mix Asbuton (CPHMA). CPHMA is a natural asphalt mixture consisting of aggregates, buton grains, juvenile substances and other added substances, which are hotly mixed and ready for cold use. CPHMA is widely used on low-traffic roadways. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of repeated solidification on the properties of near-cold hot mixed smutons (Cold Paving Hot Mix Asbuton) by testing Marshall's method. This study used repeated solidification methods on the 7th, 14th and 21st days. The test items were made of 18 briquettes consisting of 6 characteristic briquettes and 12 variational briquettes. This study refers to the 2018 Bina Marga Specification. Results from this study show that the influence of repeated solidification on CPHMA asphalt mixtures causes density, stability, MQ and VFB to decrease further. The flow, VMA, and VIM values are increasing.
