Abstract

The market is a public facility that functions as a place to channel community needs in the context of economic activities. The market as a place where buying and selling takes place between sellers and buyers is one of the largest sources of waste in Indonesia, where 22.78% of the 22.36 million tons of waste comes from the market in 2022. This research aims to find out the existing waste management system, volume waste generation and knowing the effective and efficient waste management system at Panakkukang Market, Makassar City. This research uses a quantitative approach, with a total of 23 waste generation measurement points from 9 types of samples. The results of this research are that waste management at Panakkukang Market is carried out using individual storage, direct individual collection, and waste transportation using a compactor truck with a capacity of 9000 Lt. Apart from that, the amount of waste generated by Panakkukang Market is 6,092 liters/day, and to make the waste management process more effective and efficient, it can be done by paying attention to the storage, collection and transportation of waste in accordance with SNI-2454-2002 and maximizing the participation of the community to participate in optimizing waste management such as composting, recycling or reusing waste (3R).

Abstract

Asphalt concrete is an even mixture of aggregate and asphalt as a binder. Before mixing, the two ingredients must be heated to dry the aggregate and get a sufficient liquid level of asphalt to make the mixture easy. Ceramic waste can be used as an alternative aggregate in asphalt concrete mixtures. They must be ground until they meet the standard fine aggregate grain diameter. The objective of this research is to evaluate that the fine aggregate samples studied are crushed ceramic waste; to evaluate ceramics used as fine aggregates in hot asphalt mixes that meet asphalt concrete quality standards; and to evaluate the properties of hot asphalt that uses ceramic waste as fine aggregates. I chose the title of this research because ceramic waste improves asphalt concrete's quality. The research uses the Marshall testing method, which is meant to determine the resistance (stability) to plastic melting (flow) of the asphalt and aggregate mixture. The asphalt concrete mixture uses a variety of ceramic waste fine aggregates of 100%, 75%, 50% and 25%. With  The 100% ceramic waste asphalt mix had the highest Marshall stability value, with an average of 1561.07 kg; the 25% ceramic waste asphalt mix had the lowest, with an average of 1548.31 kg.

Abstract

Construction waste is often considered non-hazardous and not a major environmental concern. However, in reality, it can significantly contribute to environmental degradation, particularly during construction, renovation, and demolition activities. This study aims to identify the factors contributing to waste generation in the construction of the Gowa Public Service Mall. Key factors analyzed include Design, Handling, Workers, Construction Management, Material Waste Management, and Procurement/Purchasing. The study employs a quantitative approach using SPSS for analysis, with a sample size of 30 participants. Based on the percentage analysis, the study found that the design factor (X1) had a mean value of 2.71, handling (X2) scored 2.90, workers (X3) scored 2.57, construction management scored 2.85, material waste management (X5) had the highest mean at 2.98, and procurement (X6) scored 2.67. Among these, material management was identified as the most significant factor contributing to waste in the Gowa Public Service Mall construction, with a mean score of 2.98.

Abstract

Traffic plays an important role in supporting daily activities and economic growth, especially in Makassar City which experiences an increase in traffic volume of around 3% per year. One of the problems that arises is the limited parking area, especially on Jalan Somba Opu which is a trading center. Parking on the roadside reduces road capacity by 30-40% and worsens congestion, especially with the 30° diagonal parking model which leaves an effective road width of only 3 meters. This study analyzes the impact of parking on the roadside on traffic performance, showing that road capacity decreased from 1,750 smp/hour to 1,333 smp/hour due to parking. The degree of saturation value reached 0.89 in conditions with parking and 0.68 without parking, indicating that road services are in categories E and C, respectively. The proposed solution is to provide a larger and more orderly special parking area, as well as strict regulation and supervision. Thus, it is expected that traffic flow on Jalan Somba Opu can increase, reduce congestion, and provide comfort for road users.

Abstract

In the current technological era, concrete is one of the most widely used building materials in the world, including in Indonesia, therefore good quality concrete will greatly support structural safety. Indonesia is also a developing country that has quite advanced industrial prospects. Glass waste and ceramic waste are increasing in volume every day because many human activities produce glass and ceramics. Most of the glass and ceramic waste is directly disposed of in open areas. This of course will pollute the environment, considering that glass and ceramics are non-recyclable materials. naturally repeated by nature. This study aims to reduce the impact caused by waste glass and ceramic shards that are disposed of directly into nature. By using word powder as a partial replacement for fine aggregate (sand) at a constant 10%, and using ceramic shards as a partial replacement for coarse aggregate at 30%, 40%, and 50%, the compressive strength results are 21.02 MPa, 21.31 MPa, and 26.21 MPa. And the resulting flexural strength is 3.87 MPa, 3.87 MPa, and 3.60 MPa.

Abstract

Makassar City is experiencing the same struggle with other big cities, namely the problem of urban transportation. The level of vehicle movement in Makassar City is quite high as a result, causing congestion in the downtown area and in the suburbs. Water transportation media cannot be separated from the origin of the transportation system above, namely the activity in the river circulation area so that it has the potential to be developed, this study analyzes the river route as a water transportation network into Makassar City transportation. Increasing the use of water transportation routes to generate social activities and a form of transportation system used for the transportation of goods and passengers through water. The advantages of river or canal transportation means that it is cheap, easy, relatively safe, the carrying capacity can be high in sync using the culture of its use, simple technology. The main weakness comes from river transportation, which means slow movement and many areas that are not traversed by commercial shipping channels.
