Abstract

The demand for environmentally friendly concrete mixtures is currently increasing due to an increase in global temperatures. Therefore, innovation is needed in the world of Civil Engineering to produce structures that can reduce global warming. One alternative that can be taken is by utilizing materials from environmentally friendly products such as Iron Slag. This study aims to determine the characteristics of the aggregate and to analyze the strength of the concrete mixture using Iron Slag as a substitute for fine aggregate. This research is an experimental study which was conducted in the Laboratory of Concrete and Structural Materials, Bosowa University. Variations in the test object were the levels of addition of Iron Slag with levels of 0%, 25% and 50%. The test object will be observed at the age of 28 days, where the number of test objects is 29 pieces. The tests carried out include testing the characteristics of the materials used, both coarse and fine aggregates, as well as testing the compressive strength of the concrete. Based on the results of the research analysis, it was concluded that Iron Slag waste met the criteria as fine aggregate for concrete mixtures.

Abstract

Penggunaan produk baja sebagai bagian dalam struktur bangunan untuk konstruksi dalam negri semakin meningkat. Salah satu dampak operasional industry peleburan logam baja adalah besarnya jumlah limbah yang berupa slag yang dihasilkannya. Hal ini disebakan oleh kandungan logam didalam biji yang relatif kecil. Apabila slag yang dihasilkan tidak dikelola dengan baik, maka akan dapat menimbulkan masalah bagi lingkungan, sehingga slag perlu mendapatkan penanganan yang tepat. Inovasi pembuatan beton dengan penggunaan limbah, masih akan terus dikembangkan. Salah satu inovasi yang dilakukan adalah dengan memanfaatkan Iron slag sebagai bahan substitusi sebagian agregat halus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kekuatan beton setelah menggunakan bahan tersebut.Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Struktur dan Bahan Beton Jurusan Teknik Sipil Universitas Bosowa. Benda uji dibuat dalam 2 (dua) tipe yaitu beton normal (beton kontrol) dan beton variasi Iron slag. Iron slag digunakan sebagai material substitusi agregat halus dengan memvariasikan kadarnya dalam campuran beton sebesar 0%, 75% dan 100% dan penggunaan Superplasticizer sebanyak 1%. Benda uji akan diamati pada umur 28 hari, dimana jumlah benda uji sebanyak 29 buah. Data yang terkumpul digunakan untuk menganalisis karakteristik beton yang menggunakan Iron slag. Dari hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan kuat tekan beton variasi yang tertinggi terjadi pada benda uji BS 100 yaitu sebesar sebesar 63,34% terhadap beton normal (beton kontrol). Penggunaan Iron slag sebagai material pengganti sebagian agregat halus pada campuran beton dapat meningkatkan kemampuan beton dalam menahan beban

Abstract

The Partners of the Community Partnership Program (PKM) are seaweed farmer groups, namely the partner group (1) Malelaya, its leader Sampara, and the partner group (2) Bina Mandiri, chaired by Daeng Nyau, who has a desire to develop a seaweed processing business in the lawi lawi becomes a new product, so it can be an alternative business. The problem of partners is not having the knowledge and skills in seaweed processing that can be marketed in the form of fast food. Another problem is that the type of seaweed jens lawi-selling is very low and easily damaged, so that it requires another alternative to be used as additional income in the family in particular. The implementation methods are: lectures, demonstrations, discussions, questions and answers, and assistance. The results achieved are (1) Partners have knowledge in seaweed processing. (2) The partner has knowledge and skills in processing pestle pestle pestle. (3) Partners have skills in making seaweed meatballs. (4) Mitra has various types of seaweed meatballs entrepreneurial spirit.

Abstract

Model pelatihan ini adalah Pengabdian bagi masyarakat dalam bentuk PKM. PKM ini dilatarbelakangi dari minat masyarakat terhadap wirausaha yang kurang, karena mereka berpikir tingginya modal yang akan mereka gunakan, oleh karena itu PKM ini hadir sebagai upaya untuk memberikan solusi bahwa sebuah usaha dapat dilakukan tanpa harus menggunakan modal yang besar, hanya diperlukan sedikit kreatifitas dan penerapan iptek untuk membarikan solusi yang tepat. PKM Sablon Kaos Digital ini bertujuan untuk a) mendesain produk sablon berupa kaos, b) memberikan pelatihan wirausaha kepada Karang Taruna, c) memberikan pengalaman kerja pada peserta dan d) komersialisasi produk sablon di Kab. Jeneponto.Metode yang digunakan dalam PKM bagi masyarakat ini adalah dengan mendesain produk sablon dan mug untuk melatih skill peserta agar siap untuk bersaing di dunia usaha, mengadakan pelatihan, praktek, pendampingan dan pemantauan. Dengan pengabdian bagi masyarakat ini diharapkan peserta memiliki kemampuan untuk mendesain, mencetak dan memasarkan produk sablon agar meningkatkan minat wirausaha dan mendapatkan penghasilan.

Abstract

Cold Paving Hot Mix Asbuton is a mixture of asbuton consisting of aggregate, granular asbuton, rejuvenator and other added ingredients mixed with cold heat. Hot and cold mixed asphalt asphalt is a ready-to-use asphalt mixture product that is used as a pavement surface layer for low traffic volume roads. The purpose of this study was to obtain the effect of adding styrofoam to the Marshall characteristics of the CPHMA type Buton asphalt mixture with repeated immersion. This study uses styrofoam waste with the addition of 5%, 10%, and 15%. Samples of test objects made as many as 33 samples, 6 normal samples and 27 samples of variation. Treatment of the specimens was carried out with repeated immersion variations of 6, 12, and 18 days. The manufacture of test objects is hot mixed and refers to the 2018 Bina Marga Specifications, the test is carried out with the Marshall test equipment. The results of this test indicate that the effect of Styrofoam waste as an additive in the CPHMA type Buton asphalt mixture with repeated immersion can cause the value of density, stability, MQ, and VFB to decrease. Abstract

In general, clayey soil has low bearing capacity; therefore, clayey soil needs to be improved in terms of its bearing capacity before constructing anything on it. This research aims to utilize fertilizer to enhance the CBR (California Bearing Ratio) and reduce the permeability of clayey soil. One way to improve clayey soil is by incorporating fertilizer as a soil stabilization material, by conducting CBR and Permeability Tests. Urea fertilizer readily dissolves in water and exhibits easy water absorption properties (hygroscopic). On the other hand, NPK fertilizer is a compound fertilizer containing nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) in varying compositions, with each element represented by the initial letter of its name (N, P, and K). In this study, 10% Urea is added to the soil, and there is variation in the amount of NPK, namely 0%, 5%, 10%, and 15%. The research results indicate that with the addition of NPK fertilizer, the CBR value continues to increase compared to the original soil and soil with only urea mixture. Meanwhile, in the Permeability Test, with each addition of NPK fertilizer, the coefficient of permeability value experiences a decrease.

Abstract

The increasing population in Makassar City each year has led to a rise in the number of motor vehicle drivers. This study aims to analyze intersections and provide solutions. At the T-junction of Jalan Abdullah Daeng Sirua and Jalan Adyaksa Baru, delays arise due to side obstacles, including vehicles entering and exiting from Jalan Inspeksi Kanal, as well as the presence of restaurants, businesses, and service providers along the intersection’s edges. Limited parking spaces cause many vehicles to stop haphazardly. Another cause of congestion at this intersection is the narrow Daeng Sirua Bridge, which creates traffic jams along the stretch of road at the T-junction of Jalan Abdullah Daeng Sirua and Jalan Adyaksa Baru. To address these issues, solutions include road widening, bridge expansion, and reconfiguration of traffic lights at the intersection. The Level of Service (LOS) at the current conditions shows Approach Code A (Jalan Abdullah Daeng Sirua) rated as D, Approach Code B (Jalan Abdullah Daeng Sirua) rated as F, and Approach Code C (Jalan Adyaksa Baru) rated as C.

Abstract

The accuracy of predicting the elastic modulus of asphalt mixtures is crucial for analyzing pavement structure performance. This prediction impacts pavement responses, including tensile strain below the surface layer and compressive strain below the subgrade. Calculating equivalent standard axle loads (ESALs), specifically ESAL 4 and ESAL 5, is essential for determining pavement thickness. To ensure that flexible pavement provides safe and comfortable service, it is important to design the pavement structure to meet the planned service life. The pavement thickness was calculated using the 2017 manual pavement design method, followed by analysis with the Asphalt Institute method to predict load repetitions leading to potential road damage, such as fatigue cracking and permanent deformation. This research, a quantitative descriptive study with a case study approach, was conducted on HM. Yasin Limpo Road in Gowa Regency. The results indicated pavement layer thicknesses of 4 cm for AC-WC, 6 cm for AC-BC, 16 cm for AC-Base, and 20 cm for Class A subbase. The tensile strain value was 0.0001932 kilopascals, with load repetitions amounting to 24,324,108 ESALs, while the compressive strain was 0.0003511 kilopascals, with load repetitions of 39,924,439 ESALs.

Abstract

The Kebun Kopi - Toboli road section is a crucial route connecting several districts in Central Sulawesi. This section consists of straight roads interspersed with several sharp curves, causing inconvenience to road users. Therefore, redesigning the geometrics is essential. The objective of this research is to redesign the geometric configuration of the existing Kebun Kopi - Toboli section, from STA 10+965 to STA 11+150. This research employs a literature review method to examine applicable standards, a field survey method to obtain geometric data, and a computational model simulation using Autodesk Civil 3D software to calculate various geometric variables. The results of the horizontal alignment calculations on the existing road section, particularly on the curves, show a total length of 300 meters. The terrain classification for the proposed road is flat, with a design speed of 60 km/h and an existing road width of 2x2.5 meters. The section includes 5 Spiral-Spiral curves. For vertical alignment, there are 5 concave vertical alignments and 4 convex vertical alignments.

Abstract

Traffic problems that arise due to the activity of vehicles parked on the Bandang - North Veteran Road Agency are certainly detrimental to road users, such as when the vehicle is parked or when the vehicle leaves the park. Therefore, the aim of this research is to determine the effect of parking activities on traffic performance and road service levels around Jalan Bandang - Jalan Veteran Utara Makassar. The type of method used is a descriptive research method, where data collection is obtained from geometric surveys of roads, traffic volume, vehicle speed and parking accumulation. The results of the research show that the influence of on-street parking has on traffic performance on the Jalan Bandang - Jalan Veteran Utara section, based on the analysis results Monday, Thursday, Saturday with a DS value = 0.77 on Jalan Bandang and a DS value = 0, 93 on North Veterans Road. With a DS value > 0.75, treatment is needed to reduce density or congestion. So the level of service on Jalan Bandang is rated C, while the rating on Jalan Veteran Utara is rated E, so there must be no parking signs installed because it results in a reduction in road capacity.
