Abstract

Globalization affects the shift of local culture which is the identity of a community group. This has been proven by the existence of Balinese language, which is experiencing challenges of degradation from time to time. Based on these problems, PC KMHDI Denpasar tried to implement the KMHDI’s Rumah Daya Program as a forum for grounding Balinese language and preserving local culture at SD Saraswati 6 Denpasar. Although it has been implemented, there is no concrete explanation regarding the success of the KMHDI’s Rumah Daya program implementation. Therefore, the purpose of this research is presented to analyze and answer three formulations of program problems, which are related to the urgency, essence, and implications of the program on the earthing of Balinese Language in SD Saraswati 6 Denpasar. In terms of methods, this research uses descriptive qualitative data with a naturalistic-based approach. Data sources came from primary and secondary sources. Primary data were obtained through observation of activities and interviews with research subjects, namely teachers and students, and secondary data were obtained through literature studies and documentation as reinforcement. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman approach. The results showed that KMHDI's Rumah Daya program is able to be the answer to ground the Balinese language in the school environment interactively. In conclusion, this program is able to provide positive implications, both as an interactive learning space, a space for preserving the nation's culture, and a space for learning while playing that is useful

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of literacy learning at SDN 1 Penatih and identify strategies, obstacles, and the impact of the literacy program on the development of students' reading and writing competencies. This type of research was a qualitative descriptive study that focuses on the learning process, teacher-student interactions, and the implementation of the literacy curriculum in lower and upper grades. Research data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with class teachers, the school literacy coordinator, the principal, and several students, as well as document analysis such as lesson plans, literacy modules, reading journals, and student work. All data were analyzed using Miles & Huberman's analysis techniques, which include data reduction, data presentation, and thematic conclusion drawing. The results showed that SDN 1 Penatih has integrated literacy as a school culture through the School Literacy Movement (GLS) program with three main stages: habituation, development, and learning. Teachers use various strategies, such as read aloud, project-based literacy, class reading corners, and interactive digital media. The analysis results showed an increase in reading interest and text comprehension abilities in most students, especially in lower grades. However, several obstacles persist, such as limited availability of level-appropriate reading books, significant variation in student literacy skills, and limited digital literacy resources in some classrooms. The implications of this research indicated that successful literacy learning requires systematic school support through the provision of diverse reading materials, teacher training in literacy pedagogy, and collaboration between schools and parents in building a literacy environment at home. This study recommends strengthening technology-based literacy programs and improving the quality of formative literacy assessments to continuously monitor student development. Abstract

The Society 5.0 era demands the integration of digital technology in various areas of life, including higher education. English proficiency for PGSD students is no longer merely a supplement, but a core competency, along with the return of English to the elementary school curriculum. Students of the Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Study Program, as future educators, need to have adequate basic English language competency and the ability to utilize digital technology in the learning process. This study aims to analyze effective digital-based basic English teaching strategies for PGSD students at UHN Sugriwa Denpasar. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The research subjects were PGSD students taking the Basic English course. Data collection techniques were carried out through learning observations, interviews, and documentation of the use of digital platforms. The results of the study indicate that digital-based learning strategies that utilize media such as Learning Management Systems, language learning applications, interactive videos, and digital quizzes can increase student engagement, enrich the learning experience, and help students understand vocabulary and language structures more contextually. In addition, the use of digital technology also improves students' learning motivation and communication skills. This study concludes that digital-based English teaching strategies are a relevant and effective approach to supporting learning in the Society 5.0 era, particularly for prospective elementary school teacher students.
