Abstract

Background: fatigue is the most disturbing sign and symptom felt by cancer patients. As a result of fatigue, clients become too tired to engage in daily activities so that it can affect the client's quality of life. It is necessary to know the factors that have the most significant relationship with fatigue in cancer clients and appropriate nursing interventions are needed to overcome it. Objective: this study was to determine the factors that have the most significant relationship with fatigue in cancer clients and to determine the effect of five-finger relaxation technique intervention on fatigue. Method: research with pre-test and post-test design with 32 respondents with purposive sampling. Data analysis using paired t-test, wilcoxon and spearman correlation. Results: the study showed that sleep quality had a significant relationship with fatigue (p value = 0.004), and the five-finger relaxation technique had an effect on improving sleep quality and decreasing fatigue in ca mammae clients (p = 0.000). Sleep quality and fatigue have a moderate relationship (r = 0.396) and a positive pattern. Conclusion: this study recommends the need to use the five-finger relaxation technique to overcome sleep quality disorders and fatigue as symptoms and signs that are often found in cancer clients.

Abstract

The occurrence of chronic diseases is a predominant challenge in global public health. Chronic diseases have a high incidence; according to the 2021 study conducted by the Global Burden of Disease, chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes are included in the top five death risks in the world and are responsible for approximately 20% of global deaths. SBAR communication technique is the prioritized indicator for effective communication quality in patient safety goal (IPSG 2). Patient safety highly depends on the medical team’s action in decreasing unwanted incidence, which can be prevented by increasing effective communication through socializing SBAR communication. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of implementing SBAR communication in interprofessional collaboration (IPC) between doctors and nurses on patient safety. The research used a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The respondents were 35 nurses and 35 doctor specialists according to the inclusion criteria with purposive sampling. The research instruments were SBAR communication questionnaires, with a validity value of CVI=0.87 and a reliability value of Cronbach’s Alpha=0.62. Data was analyzed using the Wilcoxon Test. The results showed a significant difference in pre-post SBAR implementation scores between doctors and nurses (p=0.04; p<0.05). The research results showed that the Mean Rank was 18.00 for both doctor specialists and nurses, indicating that socializing SBAR communication could significantly change the mean rank value.

Abstract

Introduction: High blood pressure significantly raises the likelihood of premature death, particularly when systolic and diastolic pressure levels continue to escalate. If left uncontrolled over time, this condition can cause damage to blood vessels supplying essential organs, including the heart, kidneys, brain, and eyes. Hypertension is a major health issue as it often remains undetected for an extended period. Objective: This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of healthy heart exercises in reducing blood pressure among elderly individuals. Methods: A Quasi-Experimental research design was utilized, specifically applying a one-group pre-test and post-test method. Results: Data analysis using the Wilcoxon test produced a P-Value of 0.000 (p<0.05), indicating a statistically significant outcome. Conclusion: The findings confirm that engaging in healthy heart exercises effectively lowers blood pressure, as evidenced by the notable differences in pre- and post-intervention measurements. Keywords: Heart Health Exercises, Elderly, Hypertension Pendahuluan: Tekanan darah tinggi secara signifikan meningkatkan kemungkinan kematian dini, terutama jika kadar tekanan sistolik dan diastolik terus meningkat.

Abstract

Background: Mental health is an important component of overall well-being, especially for pregnant women and has an impact on the fetus. WHO reports that 1 in 5 women will experience mental health problems during pregnancy or one year after giving birth. The impact of mental health problems on mothers will have physical and psychological impacts on both the mother and her baby, such as maternal depression, postpartum depression, and can have an impact on the birth of low birth weight (LBW) babies. Objective: This community service is to socialize the importance of mental health for pregnant women by prioritizing the role of "HOLDING HUSBAND" in maintaining the Welfare of Pregnant Women. This community service is carried out with a descriptive approach using the role of "HOLDING HUSBAND" such as (Support system; Avoid negative things; Positive activities; Time for yourself; Adequate rest). The target of community service is 30 pregnant women in the first, second, and third trimesters who fill out a mental health questionnaire before and after the socialization takes place. Results: Community service shows that there is an increase in maternal mental health before and after socialization by 28%. Conclusion: Based on this, it can be concluded that by providing socialization that prioritizes the role of "HOLDING BY HUSBAND" pregnant women are expected to become prosperous mothers who can improve the mother's mental health by reducing maternal health problems ranging from anxiety to depression.

Abstract

Fracture is a condition where the continuity of bone tissue is broken. Intertrochanter fractures are fractures that occur in the pelvic bones with a transverse line from the greater trochanter to the lesser trochanter. Broken bones are a potential or real threat to a person's integrity, so they experience physiological and psychological disorders that can cause reactions in the form of pain. Traumatic pain due to bone fractures that damage healthy tissue. The first treatment is to observe whether there are other accompanying injuries, after that skin traction is applied which is considered effective before performing surgery to reduce pain. Objective: to determine the reduction in pain scale in intertrochanteric fracture patients after skin traction was applied. The method in this research uses a pre-experimental design with a one group pretest-posttest design. Data collection techniques used questionnaire sheets and the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) pain scale. Data analysis used paired T test. The results showed that the intensity of pain before and after being given skin traction had decreased. The conclusion in the study was that the installation of skin traction before surgery could reduce the pain scale in intertrochanter fracture patients.
