Abstract

Reading comprehension is an important aspect that students must be taught. One alternative to improving reading comprehension skills is using Edpuzzle media. This study aims to improve the reading comprehension abilities of students in Grade II D of the Indonesian School in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, by utilizing Edpuzzle media. In this study, the method used was classroom action research, which used a model developed by Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. The subjects of the study were grade II D students at the Indonesian School of Jeddah. The study involved 32 students, comprising 13 boys and 19 girls. The data collection techniques used were observation, tests, and documentation. The research instrument consisted of observation sheets and tests. The data analysis technique employed in this study utilized a qualitative data analysis approach, consisting of three stages, as described by Miles and Huberman, in addition to quantitative data analysis. The results show a significant increase in the average reading comprehension score, from 44.82 in the pre-cycle to 82.41 in the second cycle, and an increase in classical completeness from 18.51% to 93%. In addition, the implementation of learning. Additionally, the learning implementation rate increased from 60% in the first cycle to 80% in the second cycle. Thus, the use of Edpuzzle has been proven effective in improving students' understanding.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively review how cultural literacy is applied in elementary schools and its impact on the character development of students. The research method chosen for this study is the Systematic Literature Review method. Data collection was conducted by documenting and reviewing all articles related to cultural literacy in elementary schools published between 2016 - 2025 and published in Scopus-indexed journals. The articles used in the study were identified and selected based on criteria for analysis. The selection process resulted in five articles that were reviewed in depth through content analysis. The main findings of this study are classified into three dimensions: (1) the relevance of cultural literacy in the era of globalization, (2) the integration of local wisdom into education, and (3) the role of educators and learning strategies. These three dimensions indicate that cultural literacy helps students understand more about cultural diversity, strengthen their character, and enhance their national identity. This study emphasizes and recommends that cultural literacy-based learning should be implemented systematically and contextually, starting from the elementary school level.

Abstract

This research aims to develop E-Modules of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) based on project-based learning to improve the collaboration skills of grade IV elementary school students that are feasible, practical, and effective. This research used a Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model, which consists of five main stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects of this research were teachers and fourth-grade students in all primary schools in Tirtoadi, Mlati, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Observations, interviews, and questionnaires were used to collect data. The data analysis was qualitative and quantitative with an n-gain score test, independent t-test, and paired sample t-test. The results of research and development were in the form of IPAS e-module products based on project-based learning that are feasible, practical, and effective. The feasibility of the product from material experts and media experts obtained a percentage score of 88,71% with a very feasible category. The practicality of the product from the responses of educators and students obtained a percentage score of 81.58% with a very practical category. The effectiveness test results in an independent sample t-test showed a Sig. 0.022 < 0.05, and the paired sample t-test shows a Sig. 0.000 < 0.05. The results showed that the product was declared effective in improving the collaboration ability of grade IV elementary school students.

Abstract

Edukasi gizi memiliki peran krusial dalam memastikan anak-anak berkebutuhan khusus (ABK) mendapatkan menu yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan gizi mereka. Permasalahan pemenuhan gizi bagi ABK masih menjadi salah satu tantangan yang dihadapi guru maupun orang tua. Salah satu dampaknya adalah kesehatan, pertumbuhan, dan perkembangan anak kurang optimal. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi mengenai penyusunan menu makanan bergizi bagi anak berkebutuhan khusus di Kabupaten Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Metode pelaksanaan terdiri dari ceramah, diskusi, dan praktik implementasi penyusunan menu harian bergizi. Ceramah dan diskusi digunakan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman guru mengenai pentingnya gizi seimbang dan prinsip dasar penyusunan menu, serta praktik implementasi untuk memberikan pengalaman langsung agar peserta mampu merancang variasi menu makanan bergizi sesuai kebutuhan anak. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta dalam menyusun menu makanan bergizi yang sesuai dengan kondisi anak.

Abstract

This study stems from the growing demand for teaching strategies that are both innovative and effective. It aims to enhance the creative abilities of students by implementing a project-based learning approach within the Basic Science Concepts course. Employing a one-shot case study design, the research involved 15 PGSD students from Universitas Muhammadiyah kalianda who were participating in the course. Data were collected through the analysis of product observation sheets utilizing the Creative Thinking Scale as the primary assessment tool. The collected data were then analyzed using percentage-based techniques and presented descriptively. The findings revealed that students demonstrated a high level of creativity in developing science teaching aids, with an average score of 84. These results suggest that integrating project-based learning into science instruction can effectively foster creativity among PGSD students in the Basic Science Concepts course.Latar belakang penelitian ini berakar pada semakin tingginya tuntutan terhadap metode pembelajaran yang bersifat inovatif dan mampu meningkatkan efektivitas proses belajar. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kreativitas mahasiswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran project based learning dalam mata kuliah IPA Dasar. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan one-shot case study, dengan melibatkan 15 mahasiswa PGSD Universitas Muhammadiyah Kalianda yang sedang mengikuti perkuliahan IPA Dasar. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi terhadap produk hasil pembelajaran, menggunakan instrumen skala berpikir kreatif. Analisis data menggunakan teknik persentase dan disajikan dalam bentuk deskriptif. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa kreativitas mahasiswa dalam merancang alat peraga untuk pembelajaran IPA berada pada kategori sangat tinggi, dengan rata-rata skor 84. Berdasarkan hasil ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek menghasilkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kreativitas siswa, khususnya dalam hal pembelajaran IPA di tingkat pendidikan dasar. Dengan demikian, pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis proyek terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan kreatif siswa Program Studi PGSD pada mata kuliah IPA Dasar.
