Abstract

Celina Fardiani Onggong, 2025 The Effectiveness of Project-Based Learning (Pjbl) in Informatics on the Learning Outcomes of Grade VII Students at Citra Bangsa Christian Junior High School, Kupang. Informatics Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Citra Bangsa University, Kupang. Supervisors: Ms. Diana Y.A. Fallo, S.Kom., M.T. and Ms. Dr. Maria M.B. Sogen, S.Kom., M.Pd. This study focuses on the effectiveness of implementing a Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in Informatics on the learning outcomes of seventh-grade students at Citra Bangsa Christian Middle School, Kupang. The objectives of the study were to determine how PjBL is applied to structured data and data processing applications, assess its effectiveness on learning outcomes, and demonstrate whether this model can improve student achievement. The study used a quantitative approach with a True Experimental Design. Data collection was conducted through two stages: a pretest before the lesson and a posttest after the lesson. The pretest was used to measure students' initial abilities, while the posttest measured improvement after the PjBL iimplementation. The results showed a significant improvement in student learning outcomes. The average pretest score for the experimental class was 69.11, increasing to 90.16 in the posttest. Meanwhile, the control class achieved an average pretest score of 52.28 and a posttest score of 83.83. Furthermore, questionnaire results from 37 students showed a percentage of 38.63%. These findings confirm that PjBL is effective in improving learning outcomes, as demonstrated by the significant difference between the experimental and control classes.

Abstract

Mardiana Teku Nuwa. The Effect of Using ChatGPT on the Critical Thinking Skills of Tenth-Grade Students in Informatics Learning at SMA Kristen Citra Bangsa Mandiri Kupang. Study Program of Informatics Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Citra Bangsa University, Kupang.Advisors: Mr. Jhon Enstein, S.Kom.,M.Cs and Dr. Maria M. B. Sogen, S.Kom., M.Pd. This study examines the influence of ChatGPT on the critical thinking skills of Grade X students in Informatics learning at SMA Kristen Citra Bangsa Mandiri Kupang. Using a quantitative quasi-experimental design, the research involved an experimental class using ChatGPT and a control class receiving conventional instruction. Findings show significant improvements in learning outcomes and critical thinking indicators in the experimental group. These results suggest that ChatGPT enhances reflective, analytical, and independent learning. The study emphasizes the importance of digital literacy and ethics to ensure that ChatGPT is used as a thinking tool rather than merely a source of answers effectively.

Abstract

Lukas Ferry Natapuling, 2026. Analysis of Students’ Computational Thinking Skills in Completing Programming Projects (A Case Study of Grade X Students at Citra Bangsa Christian Senior High School). Informatics Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Citra Bangsa University. Supervisor I: Dr. Maria M. B. Sogen, S.Kom., M.Pd., Supervisor II: Diana Yanni Ariswati Fallo, S.Kom., M.T. This study aims to describe the computational thinking processes of Grade X students at Citra Bangsa Christian Senior High School in completing programming projects and to identify the challenges and strategies used by students to overcome difficulties during the process. Computational thinking is an essential 21st-century skill that includes decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithmic thinking. These skills are necessary to help students solve problems logically, systematically, and effectively in informatics learning. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. The research subjects were Grade X students of Citra Bangsa Christian Senior High School selected through purposive sampling based on their active involvement in programming projects. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that students applied various aspects of computational thinking in completing programming projects, although their level of mastery varied across different aspects. Decomposition and pattern recognition were evident in students’ ability to break down problems and identify similarities in solution procedures. However, abstraction and algorithmic thinking remained challenging for some students, particularly in filtering relevant information and developing systematic solution steps. The challenges encountered included difficulties in understanding programming logic, determining appropriate algorithms, and resolving program errors. To overcome these challenges, students employed several strategies, such as discussing problems with peers, consulting teachers, searching for references on the internet, and using trial-and-error methods. This study provides a deeper understanding of students’ computational thinking processes and may serve as a reference for teachers in designing more effective and student-centered informatics learning experiences.

Abstract

Sergius Erdin Mowata, 2026. Analysis of Students' Creative Thinking Skills in the Standard Algorithm Subject Using Scratch (A Case Study of Tenth-Grade Students at SMK Negeri 5 Kupang). Supervised by Dr. Maria M.B. Sogen, S.Kom., M.Pd. and Khatrin J. Taku Neno, S.Pd. Kom., M.Pd. Informatics Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Citra Bangsa Kupang. This study was motivated by the varying levels of students' creative thinking skills in learning Standard Algorithms using Scratch. Based on preliminary observations and interviews, it was found that some students still experienced difficulties in generating original ideas, applying various problem-solving strategies, and elaborating programming projects in detail. These conditions indicate the need for an in-depth investigation of students' creative thinking processes in completing Scratch-based programming projects. This study aims to analyze students' creative thinking skills, identify the strategies they use to overcome programming difficulties, and identify the challenges faced by teachers in teaching Standard Algorithms using Scratch. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through structured observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive analysis model, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The trustworthiness of the data was ensured through triangulation techniques. The findings of this study are expected to provide a comprehensive description of students' creative thinking skills based on the indicators of fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration, and to serve as a reference for teachers in designing more effective, creative, and student-centered Informatics learning strategies to enhance students' creative thinking skills in learning Standard Algorithms using Scratch.
