Abstract

Generasi milenial hidup dalam ekosistem digital yang membentuk cara berpikir, berperilaku, dan memandang nilai-nilai kehidupan. Pendidikan nilai menjadi tantangan besar karena pola pikir generasi ini berbeda dengan generasi sebelumnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi karakteristik generasi milenial, menganalisis tantangan pendidikan nilai yang mereka hadapi, serta merumuskan strategi pengembangan pendidikan nilai yang relevan dan kontekstual. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi kepustakaan (library research) dengan pendekatan deskriptif-kualitatif. Sumber data diambil dari literatur ilmiah yang relevan terbit tahun 2015–2025. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa generasi milenial cenderung lebih responsif terhadap pendekatan pembelajaran yang interaktif, berbasis pengalaman, dan kontekstual. Namun, mereka juga rentan terhadap pengaruh negatif teknologi, seperti budaya instan, konten destruktif, dan menurunnya interaksi sosial langsung. Strategi pendidikan nilai yang efektif meliputi pembiasaan (habituasi), penanaman nilai secara rasional dan emosional (moral knowing dan moral feeling), praktik langsung (moral acting), keteladanan (moral modeling), pemberian konsekuensi (punishment edukatif), dan nasihat yang menyentuh. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan nilai bagi generasi milenial harus dirancang adaptif terhadap perkembangan zaman dengan melibatkan seluruh elemen pendidikan, termasuk guru, orang tua, dan kebijakan institusi.

Abstract

This study aims to describe religious moral education and national cultural character at the Islamic Boarding School MAN 1 Semarang Regency, as well as supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method through field observation, interviews, and documentation. Primary data sources were obtained from the head of the boarding school, the coordinator of caregivers, and students, while secondary data were used as supporting data. The results of the study indicate that religious moral education at this boarding school includes activities to recite the Ta'lim Muta'alim book and mentoring, such as congregational prayer and sermons with a habituation method. Meanwhile, national cultural character education involves disciplinary mentoring, with a focus on religious behavior, tolerance, respect, politeness, social care, and responsibility. Supporting factors for moral education include 24-hour caregiver assistance, as well as a conducive environment. However, some students still lack self-awareness. Supporting factors for national cultural character education include the environment and educators, while the obstacles are the indifferent attitudes of some students.

Abstract

The modernization of Islamic education is an inevitable necessity in responding to the dynamics of contemporary civilization characterized by the advancement of science, technology, and socio-political transformation. This article aims to analyze the concept of Islamic education modernization as an effort to relate Islamic values to the challenges of modernity while preserving the essence of Islamic spirituality and morality. Using a descriptive-qualitative approach and literature analysis from various scholarly sources on contemporary Islamic education, the study reveals that modernization involves curriculum reconstruction, integration between religious and general sciences, and the utilization of digital technology in learning. Socio-political dynamics play a significant role in shaping educational policies, while key challenges include the dichotomy of knowledge, inequality of educational facilities, and limited teacher competence in pedagogical innovation. Nevertheless, the future prospects of Islamic education remain promising if modernization is directed toward developing a progressive, humanistic, and value-based educational system. Thus, modernization should not be equated with westernization but understood as a continuous renewal process to meet modern challenges while maintaining Islamic identity.

Abstract

This literature based study examines the epistemology of educational research by addressing the central question: how do the epistemological scope and functions of research shape the development of contemporary educational science? The analysis focuses on three epistemological dimensions the nature of knowledge, sources of validity, and modes of scientific justification. The study employs a structured literature review with selection criteria that include open-access articles published between 2020 and 2025, relevance to epistemology and educational research methodology, and the presence of theoretically substantive findings. The review indicates that epistemological foundations significantly influence research orientation, methodological coherence, and the strength of scientific argumentation in both theory-building and educational practice. The conceptual contribution of this study lies in mapping the linkage between epistemic structures and the core functions of research from theory development and problem-solving to policy formulation thus reinforcing an integrative and reflective paradigm for modern education.
