Abstract

Character education is a conscious and planned effort to educate students to understand and practice moral values, ethics, and noble character in everyday life. Character education is not just teaching about good and bad but is a process of forming values that include cognitive, affective, and psychomotor dimensions. The family is the first and foremost place for the formation of a child's character. If you want to form a child with good character, it must start from the family. This research is a literature study that aims to examine Character Formation that must be carried out in the family. Literature research activities are carried out by collecting data from various literature. Character education is the main pillar in the formation of a child's personality from an early age. Character not only reflects external behavior but also reflects moral and spiritual values embedded in the soul. In Islam, character formation has a strong basis from the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, which emphasizes the importance of noble morals as a reflection of a person's faith applied, such as role models, habits, advice, dialogue, and reward and punishment systems. These methods are not only effective in the family environment, but also in schools. The function and purpose of character education is to form a generation that is not only intellectually superior but also ethical, responsible, and able to make a positive contribution to community life.

Abstract

Abstract This article explores the implementation of religious moderation in education as an innovation to shape noble character, tolerance, and harmony within society. This approach integrates religious and humanitarian values, focusing not only on cognitive aspects but also on the development of students' character and social attitudes. Based on studies in Islamic and general schools, the implementation of religious moderation has proven effective in instilling values of tolerance and noble character, despite challenges such as cultural resistance and limited resources. By integrating the thoughts of Imam Al Ghazali and Syed Muhammad Naquib Al Attas, this article emphasizes the importance of balancing spiritual and humanitarian development in education. Innovations such as learning modules, teacher training, student exchanges, and the utilization of technology and community are key steps to enhance the positive impact of this approach. Abstrak Artikel ini mengeksplorasi implementasi moderasi beragama dalam pendidikan sebagai inovasi untuk membentuk akhlak mulia, toleransi, dan harmoni di masyarakat. Pendekatan ini memadukan nilai-nilai agama dan kemanusiaan, tidak hanya fokus pada aspek kognitif tetapi juga pada pengembangan karakter dan sikap sosial siswa. Berdasarkan studi di madrasah dan sekolah umum, implementasi moderasi beragama terbukti efektif dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai toleransi dan akhlak mulia, meskipun menghadapi tantangan seperti resistensi budaya dan keterbatasan sumber daya. Dengan mengintegrasikan pemikiran Imam Al Ghazali dan Syed Muhammad Naquib Al Attas, artikel ini menekankan pentingnya keseimbangan antara pengembangan spiritual dan kemanusiaan dalam pendidikan. Inovasi berupa modul pembelajaran, pelatihan guru, pertukaran siswa, serta pemanfaatan teknologi dan komunitas menjadi langkah penting untuk memperkuat dampak positif dari pendekatan ini.

Abstract

Abstract This article aims to analyze the role of education in maintaining peace and harmony in diverse societies. The research method used is a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis of scientific works published in the last ten years. Data collection was conducted through literature studies and interviews with educational stakeholders such as teachers, school principals, and community leaders. The research results show that learning innovations, such as the application of technology-based learning media and project-based learning models, contribute to increasing understanding and appreciation of diversity. Education has proven to play an important role in creating a more inclusive and peaceful society. Abstrak Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran pendidikan dalam menjaga kedamaian dan keharmonisan dalam masyarakat yang beragam. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan analisis deskriptif terhadap karya ilmiah dalam sepuluh tahun terakhir. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi pustaka dan wawancara dengan pemangku kepentingan pendidikan seperti guru, kepala sekolah, serta pemimpin masyarakat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa inovasi pembelajaran, seperti penerapan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi dan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek, berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan penghargaan terhadap keberagaman. Pendidikan terbukti memainkan peran penting dalam menciptakan masyarakat yang lebih inklusif dan damai.
