Abstract

Premarital sexual behavior among adolescents is an increasingly complex issue and needs serious attention. Along with the development of the era and changes in social values, adolescent sexual behavior is increasingly diverse. Factors that can influence adolescent sexual behavior are their level of knowledge about sexuality. Previous studies have shown that there is a relationship between knowledge about sexuality and adolescent sexual behavior, but the findings are still diverse. One key aspect in adolescent development is sexual knowledge and behavior. In the era of globalization and advances in information technology, adolescents have increasingly easy access to various information, including about sexuality. Adequate sexual knowledge is very important to help adolescents make responsible decisions regarding their reproductive and sexual health. Objective: to determine the effect of knowledge on adolescent premarital sexual behavior. Method: This study uses quantitative descriptive with an analytical observational approach. The population is all students in grades 10, 11, 12 of SMK Negeri 1 Tondano and the sample in this study is 251 students. Sampling using the purposive sampling method. Results: The results of the analysis using the Spearman rank test with p 0.001 so that knowledge has a significant relationship with premarital sexual behavior. Conclusion: knowledge influences premarital sexual behavior in adolescents.

Abstract

Background:The low breastfeeding level can be a serious problem. This is due to the fact that mothers have occupation in factories or in offices which can take up a lot of time and they prefer to give formula milk to their babies. Objective: This study aimed to determine the relationship between employment and breastfeeding in the working area of Airmadidi Health Center, North Minahasa. Methods: This study used the quantitative method with the descriptive correlational design and the Cross-Sectional approach. The study was located is the Working Area of the Airmadidi Health Center, North Minahasa. The sampling was carried out using purposive sampling technique with n = 28 samples based on inclusion and exclusive criteria. This study used the non-parametric statistical test, the Spearman correlation test. Results: The results of data analysis using thetest There was a significant relationship between mothers' occupation and breastfeeding which obtained an r coefficient value of 0.382 indicating a fairly strong correlation with a p-value of 0.045 indicating a smaller value than the alpha significance value at <0.05. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between mothers’ occupation and breastfeeding in the working area of Airmadidi Health Center, North Minahasa.

Abstract

Background: Reproductive health is often neglected by women. One of the factors is the lack of knowledge and awareness of reproductive health. Keeping the vulva clean is very important so that it is kept away from hazards that might interfere with reproductive health. Care for the outer genitalia (vulva) or commonly referred to as vulva hygiene is a behavior in which individuals can maintain the cleanliness of the outer genitals so that they remain clean and healthy and prevent the possibility of infection. Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of reproductive health knowledge and vulva hygiene in class XI adolescent girls at SMA N 1 Beo, Beo District, Talaud Islands Regency Method: This study uses a descriptive analytic/quantitative design with a cross sectional approach. The population is all girl’s class XI. The number of samples is 74 respondents determined by total sampling technique. Results: This study used the Fisher Exact Test. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the level of reproductive health knowledge and vulva hygiene in class XI female adolescents at SMA N 1 Beo, Beo District, Talaud Islands Regency, with a p-value of 0.042 <α = 0.07. Conclusions: From the results of the study, it was found that there was a significant relationship between the level of reproductive health knowledge and vulva hygiene in class XI female adolescents at SMA N 1 Beo, Beo District, Talaud Islands Regency.
