Abstract

The exchange rate plays a crucial role in a country's economic stability, as it affects the competitiveness of exports and imports, capital flows, and monetary policy. This article presents a comparative review between the exchange rate mechanism in conventional economics based on market demand and supply and central bank policy (floating with fixed exchange rate) with the concept of sharf in Islamic economics that emphasizes the prohibition of usury, speculation, and real asset-based transactions. A descriptive qualitative research method with a desk study approach is used to analyze the latest academic literature and policy documents. The results of the analysis show that although both systems aim at exchange rate stability, Islamic economics offers a framework of fairness and transparency that limits extreme volatility through cash requirements, quantity equivalence (for similar currencies), and minimal intervention to maintain market balance. In contrast, the conventional system is more flexible in responding to global economic shocks but is vulnerable to speculation. These findings underline the importance of integrating sharia principles in the formulation of modern exchange rate policies to minimize uncertainty and support inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of unemployment rate and health on the Human Development Index (HDI) in Lampung. This study uses a quantitative method with multiple regression analysis to test the effect of independent variables (unemployment rate and health) on the dependent variable (HDI). The results of the study indicate that the unemployment rate has a significant positive effect on the HDI, where an increase in unemployment has the potential to increase the HDI figure. On the other hand, the health variable does not show a significant effect on the HDI, indicating that although the health program is running, other factors such as the economy and education are more dominant in determining the HDI. Simultaneously, unemployment and health contribute to changes in the HDI, but the dominance of unemployment appears stronger.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management strategy of zakat fitrah in improving community welfare in Cempaka Nuban Village, East Lampung. The research used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation and interviews with zakat committee members and beneficiaries. The findings indicate that zakat fitrah management is still traditional in both collection and distribution processes. The zakat is distributed to three main groups: the poor, the needy, and those in the cause of Allah (fisabilillah). Awareness strategies are carried out through religious talks during Ramadan, which have proven effective in increasing muzakki compliance. Zakat fitrah plays a significant role in alleviating the economic burden of beneficiaries and enhancing social solidarity during the festive season. The study concludes that zakat fitrah has the potential to be a strategic instrument for improving rural community welfare if managed systematically and with community involvement.
